milk saver or collection shell-has anyone tried it?

I leak a ton of milk for the first few weeks. Has anyone tried the Milk Saver from www.mymilkies.com ? Or from anywhere else. Or any other kind of collection shell? I would LOVE to save leaked breast milk!

I have a friend who used Swedish Milk Cups, probably the same as what you are describing. She would get lots and just keep cooling it then filling a storage bag in the fridge. When she got 6 oz, she froze it. She used Lansinoh bags. This is how she filled her freezer for when she went back to work. Just be sure that all the milk is cool before adding it together (don't add warm milk to cold)

I think I leak more than these look like they will hold. I used to try and catch it in a bottle-what a pain. I might try these and see how it goes.

I have some questions, if anyone's actually used these:

Sometimes, I would leak when not nursing DS, so can one wear them all the time?

Also, how long does the milk stay good?

Finally, is it easy to discreetly nip if you're having to put that thing in on the other breast while nursing?

I'm using them.

No... you can't wear them all the time-- I think the manual says 40 minutes at a time. Wearing these makes it so I can get a way with the ultra thin gerber breast pads during the rest of the day.

i assume the milk would stay good for about 4 hours-- the same as room temperature. Maybe less since it would rest against your body.

Is it discreet--- no way! Putting it in is no problem, but it does give you as serious mushroom boob.

Mine are in the sterilizer right now, but next time I get them out I'll check how much milk they would hold.

It's really good for what I use it for, I guess. I leak a lot during that first nursing of the morning. I keep on next to my bed, and slip it my other bra cup before nursing. I get around half an ounce. That's a big deal for me, because I barely get an ounce or an ounce and a half at each pumping session. I remove it after the feeding and let it sit on the dresser until I go downstairs and pour it into a bottle that I keep in the freezer. I may do it a few more times during the day if I feel like it. I can barely feel this thing, so it's like 'free milk!' And my shirt doesn't get soaked. Pumping while feeding ds takes all the fun out.

I'm bumping this thread because I have the same question.

Has anyone used the Milkies milk saver?

I was just online tonight looking for something like this to purchase. Anyone have any other feedback on the style and ease of use of either the milkies or a shell that collects? I want to buy something that is easy to use and not going to leak or spill.

These seem super convenient when home. When out and about how do you go about using these? Insert when about to nurse and then excuse yourself (if needed) to dump into a container that you've carried with you? How long do you feel comfortable carrying milk at room temp?

Wouldn't the milk these catch be pretty much foremilk only?

depending on the weather, bm is good for about 10hrs out and about. I wouldnt let it go that long in texas heat though. I think the milksaver also connects to plastic bags.
