I doubt Landon will want to bf. Most kids I know, even if they weaned only months before the new baby was born, don't want to. Some have a little interest and ask to nurse, but then just pretend and think it's a funny joke. You could always pump extra and give him some, but as you know, pumping sucks! My sister still makes smoothies with frozen breastmilk/fruit for her older kids when they are sick (5 and 8), she just doesn't tell them

Aw, thanks! This is an awesome time of year for going out. We've spent most of our days outside lately and it's been glorious. Wanna meet at a park say Monday or Friday next week? It's supposed to be in the 80s. We can come out by you since you're pg and shouldn't have to drive as far.

Also, do you have someone to bring you meals when baby comes? I'd love to sign up!

I'm not sure what happened to your question about the U in this post (DD is helping me type, so I'm sure that's where it went ) but I am finishing up my BA in English. I'm hoping to be a high school english teacher someday.

So here's a random thought from lack of sleep . When this baby comes I'm sure there'll be a little bit of jealousy on Landon's part which is to be expected anyway. He (Landon) will see me bf his little brother. Do you suppose he'd want to be bf too? He'll only be 21 months and I'd love to ebf him. Idk maybe not. Okay I'm gonna go now before I ramble more. This is what happens when I'm lacking sleep lol .

No, I think it's a totally valid concern. I think you'd find, if you asked at LLL, that a lot of moms had older kids who asked to nurse when a younger one was born. I had several friends who experienced this. You can say yes or no, depending on how you feel. Some kids just want to know if you'll say yes. Some really want to see what it's about but don't remember how so get bored quickly. And then some, like Andrew, really want some milk. He was weaned 5mo before Jane was born and he still asks on a weekly basis. I would still consider him weaned because most of the time I'm refusing, but sometimes he has a few sips.

I've heard that tandem nursing is really good for sibling rivalry. It also takes a whole lot out of you to make milk for two kids. I had supply issues with Andrew so I didn't want him hogging the baby's milk, but it doesn't matter so much now that Jane is mostly eating solids.

Probably what's more likely is that Landon will ask if HE can nurse the baby . Andrew did a lot of that too.

Sitting on my lap, nursing, and fiddiling, its exhausting!! From what I can tell, it looks like FIVE teeth buds are swollen and red at one time right now... So I guess thats why he has been so out of sorts, poor LO

Leah thank you, you're very sweet. Nobody has signed up yet but we don't really know anyone here anyway. And yeah Friday we'd love to come out and play. Today I went to do the three hour glucose test and ended up :Puke all of that wonderful (sarcasm) drink in the bathroom. I found a nice dr. (he delivered Landon) but he wants me to have a c-section and I don't so I guess we'll see how it goes. Anyway that's great that you want to be an English high school teacher. It was my favorite subject in hs.

That's funny about Andrew asking you to nurse the baby. I'm sure something like that will happen. I hope he asks to at least have some, I'm so scared about him being jealous to the baby but I'm hoping they'll become fast friends too.

Melissa I'm sorry about your lo, teething can be so hard. When Landon was teething he was soooo miserable I took him to his chiro at the time dr. Kristina and she told me about I think clover oil. You put a tiny dab on the gum and it stings for a second and then numbs it and that's what she did for her daughter. I'll look through my stuff though to make sure that's the right oil. Also when I made a thread for my son on his teething some of the mamas suggested using pure vanilla extract. Something to do with the alcohol in it I think, that numbs the gums. I haven't tried that one yet though.

That's great that you're getting a ride tomorrow to the meeting. I may go depending on how I feel. I've been having some braxton hicks lately and am back to feeling miserable in the mornings lol but I'll try. Thanks for letting me choose one. They're so cute!

Thanks for the info on the oils! I'd love something more natural than tylonol. I only give him some if I feel its REALLY REALLY needed, but the other things we have been doing (frozen cloth, hylands tabs) just dont seem to be cutting it right now. I've been thinking about taking Xavi into Kristina lately anyways, he's fallen hard a few times since he's been trying to walk, and I think I'd just feel better if she checked him out, even though I know all babies fall... I cant help but worry.

So, how was the meeting today? I really wanted to go but felt nauseas basically the whole day today. On top of that came the fatigue . Was there a lot of people like last time? I definitely will try to go next month.

Thanks Melissa, yeah same here we have motrin which is basically ibuprofen for infants and kids and that's what we did if nothing else worked.

I know, I kept meaning to come over and talk to you but it was crazy! Those soakers were sooo stinkin cute! I loved them! We spent some time at my sister's house last week and Claire was really intrigued with her tattoos also. She loves jewelry, so she probably thinks it's awesome skin jewelry, lol!

I was at the Sandy LLL meeting yesterday, but I didn't know about this thread/group. I've just been trying out different LLL groups. I enjoyed yesterday's meeting. I'll have to try to meet some of you next time.

I was going to ask too, are any of you going (or know about) to the India Fest this saturday? I usually go every year, and I really want to, but we may not make it. I hope we get to go. If not, I think we may go to the fair. I think Xavi would like to see the animals.

I heard about the India Fest and I'm interested. However, my husband gets annoyed at all the "free" fairs and festivals that end up costing us money because I want to try some of the food. I can understand his point of view somewhat, but I love trying new things and those festivals are some of the best places to do it.

I met a few moms that go the yahoo babywearing group at the Breastfeeding Cafe. They were super nice and I've been meaning to go but havent gotten to it yet. And I didnt know there was an AP FB group, I just joined

I have not been going to the LLL meetings - I've just been to one "outing" - do you go to those? Usually a place like a park/zoo/museum. The time I went, though, I didn't find the other moms who went. Hopefully I can go again soon. The meetings are in the evenings, right? I can't manage to get out in the evenings right now. How do you find out about the meetings? Is there an email list, or just the blog?

Hi, I've only been once to the LLL meeting and I really liked it. I'm going to try to make it for next month. I'm almost due with my second pregnancy and it's been really hard lately.

Chai welcome. I started going to the LLL meeting in Sandy and my son and I really liked it. I think there's more info about this meeting on post #101. Anyway they meet every second Tuesday of the month at ten.

Melissa I wanted to go to the Indian Fest on Saturday since we all looove Indian food here but we didn't make it. The Saturday before that there was a Brazilian Fest that we wanted to go to as well but we didn't make it. At first I got all excited but the thought of walking a lot drains me lol.

I didnt make it either I went last year, very pregnant LOL and it was tireing and HOT, I dont blame you. And this (at the festival last year) is actualy one of only two photos I have of myself preg. Wish I had more. You can see how darn hot it was, my makeup is melted all over my face lol.

Melissa that's a cute picture! We're also obsessed with Indian food here, though I don't think dh will let me eat any lol. He and I read that supposedly spicy foods can bring on labor, and I can handle some spiciness but not as much as him. I told him when I'm like 37 to 38 weeks along he'll have to take me to our favorite Indian restaurant. Well with all this talk on Indian food I'm gonna have to go get some yummm

I read that too, and tried it! I had almost two weeks of prodromal labor and was totally miserable.. I kept getting indian food and asking them to make it SUPER SUPER spicy lol... didnt work though. The owner of the Bombay House kept joking my baby was going to come out indian bc I ate there about once a week while I was pregnant

Lol, we go to India House, but it can get pretty expensive. there's this cute little Indian restaurant in Murray called Indian Buffet and we always go there. It's run by an Indian family. They used to be in downtown and we always went there and we were sooo glad when they moved to Murray. It's so worth the heartburn lol.
