What is the most comfotable carrier for baby to take long naps in?

I have a mei tei and it is not that comfortsable for baby as it presses up on his legs, and it just isn't that comfotable for long term sleeping. I love it for just everyday carrying when he supports himsefl.

I also have a maya ring sling which I love, but it gets uncomfortable to wear for moret than a hour because of the uneven weight ditribution. Still I love the ease and quivkness of the sling and use it when out and about. As my 5 month old gets bigger it is just too tight to sleep in for him.

What are good snuggly, comfy sleeping carriers that are also comfy for mom to wear?

I have a mei tai, RS and Moby, and the Moby is by far the most comfortable for both of us. the weight is distributed across your whole back/shoulders and it's nice and snug for baby.

If your babe is older, you'll get more use from a woven wrap, though.

I've tried a hotsling, ring sling, moby, ergo, mei tai, and woven wrap. For me, the woven wrap is the most comfortable carrier for long term carries. But the mei tai is a close second!

If the straps are digging into your baby's legs, have you tried twisting the straps? If you twist the straps twice behind the baby's back, and then bring them under his legs, it will help keep the straps from digging.

Here's a video of what I'm talking about.

I would definitely recommend getting him on your back for naps, if you haven't already, as that will be easier on you physically and free up your hands to do more things while he naps whether you're sitting down or up and around.

A woven wrap would be a good option if you don't mind the learning curve -- it's extremely comfortable when you find the right one, but it does take more practice.

You should definitely try the mei tai on your back and see how that goes -- my dd's go-to napping carrier for many months was the Kozy.

I also like a buckle carrier with a sleeping hood for naps on the back for the easy on-off as well as the supportiveness. I much prefer a carrier where baby's weight gets transferred to my hips for bigger babies.

That is just what I needed to see. It will fix the issue of what I am having of digging into my babes legs. We have only tried the back carry a few times and baby was too cranky with it because of the leg issue.

I am set on getting a Moby now.

And the whole woven wrap thing blows my mind, and confuses me. It is like a whole new language. Still I am determined to figure it out. I need a woven wraps crash course for dummies.

To clarify, there are two kinds of wraps: woven wraps and stretchy wraps. A moby is a stretchy wrap and I would recommend you get a woven wrap if you're aiming for comfort with a baby that age!

Didymos, Storchenwiege, Neobulle, Girasol, Hoppediz are all woven wraps and there are lots more. You can find them cheaper used. Check the FSOT forum on www.thebabywearer.com

As for a whole new language, just pick one carry to learn, and look at youtube videos and picture tutorials for that until it make sense to you. Learning a wrap carry is sort of like learning to tie your shoes--seems confusing but when you get it down, you do it without thinking about it!

I agree about the mei tei. My son always falls over sideways in it while sleeping. I also have a wrap, similar to the Moby(I gave mine away to a friend!), but not as stretchy. But the Moby is so, so wonderful for sleeping babies.

http://www.wrapababy.com -- has some vids and pic tutorials on ways to wrap.
