Sigg and interior lining pulling off?

I know I saw it somewhere here on MDC. I have a Sigg bottle and it looks like its lining is peeling off on the inside threads that accommodates the cap. Is the bottle still safe? Should I throw the bottle in the recycling bin and get a new one?

is it the old gold colored inside. if so, they have bpa in them. they did a recall and replacement a while back but i believe it's over. i would check their website to be sure and toss it. get a new one.

I could have sworn I purchased the bottle post-recall. But you never know. I went thought the mysigg.com US site more carefully and found this:

No, the liner is really coming off! Then you need to contact us. This is rare, but does occur occasionally. We will ask you to mail the bottle to us and we will get you a replacement – with no cost of shipping to you either way. Please use the contact form provided on this site to initiate the process.
I did contact them the other day. With the holidays and all, I'm not sure how long it's going to take them to get back to me.
