Smooth Away hair removal

Does anyone know about this? I just got a few of these for my sisters and myself and I'm amazed at how quickly and easily it works. But that has me concerned that there is something more to it. I was thinking it was just a harmless pad that you rub the hair off with but I mean this thing works like magic! I fear it must be too good to be true. It does give off a bit of a funky smell...

Anybody?

Isn't it just a piece of sandpaper kind of grinding the stubble down? I bet the funky smell is the smell of hair "burning"--not like it's on fire, but just being destroyed by friction.

This worked great for me, but ultimately it's just as time consuming/frequent as shaving. I'm back to the epilator, which I hate, but has good results.

I am so glad to see this post! I too and skeptical about "as seen on t.v." items that seem too good to be true. Has anyone experienced irritation because of it?

I had a similar product in high school, before they were popular. It's just like a piece of really really fine sandpaper that grinds the hair off. I didn't have any problems with them, and I know my mother was the one who reccomended them and she had sensitive skin, but I did have a friend use them and her very sensitive skin broke out from it. I just found it time consuming, but they worked well and left my skin really soft.

I LOVE these! I bought my set at Bed bath and Beyond, for super cheap. I only use it for upper lip -- which has thickened and darkened a bit over the years. This whips it right off -- much faster than the horrible chemical hair remover I used to use in the early 90s (before I knew what green meant : )

AND -- it exfoliates your skin! I wouldn't bother using it for legs or underarms -- too much work. But for facial touchup, it's perfect!
