I have a 7 year old son who was born with an allergy to cow proteins - I hate to call it a dairy allergy because he was also allergic to beef or anything else that came from a cow. He outgrew the allergy and a blood test at age 4 showed no allergic response to dairy proteins. BUT he has always been an extremely picky eater! He really does not like very many foods at all - ironically he loves to help me cook but will not eat any of his creations.
I am beginning to wonder if he still has some food allergies - gluten or wheat perhaps? I am wondering if maybe he does not like foods because they hurt his stomach or cause him to feel yucky.
So... any suggestions on how I can determine if he might be having some reaction to foods if he won't eat them? Any suggestions on how to help him expand his foods? And how to better identify allergy symptoms?
