i just wanted to update everyone... we went in for an ultrasound wednesday afternoon because i was concerned about the babies movement and found that they didn't make it. we knew this was high risk since they were monoamniotic and we just hoped that we could make it to the point where they were viable and could start monitoring. nothing could have saved them at 20weeks.
yesterday i was induced at 8:30am and Henry York was born just after 3:30pm. he was 11oz. William Irving was born about 15 minutes later and weighed 10.8oz. they were named after their great-grandfathers. their cords were completely entangled and knotted as we suspected. the labor and delivery was incredibly easy however since i hadn't dilated completely, my cervix closed before i delivered the placenta. i ended up having a d&c but not before losing a lot of blood so i had to stay overnight for monitoring.
we were able to see them and hold them and say goodbye. i'm so happy to have been able to spend that little amount of time with them. we're home now and ready to start the process of moving on. i'm not sure how that works yet.
i'm sorry that this is so sad but i needed to share our birth story.
