Cooking & Baking Mamas

Hi there!
I am a self professed Food Network junkie, Cookbook Nut, Kitchen Utensil Vixen, amateur Baker & Cook always wanting to try new things and adore the classics. The downfall to this addiction/passion is having to watch my weight, but rarely do you meet super-skinny chefs?! (hee-hee!).

My free time to get a'cookin has tapered some since I have little ones runnin' around, so I'd love to connect & share ideas with other Cooking & Baking Mamas!

Right now, I'm enjoying my Lodge Cast Iron cookware, Tivo-ing "Avec Eric", and my current fave cookbook is " The Pioneer Woman Cookbook" by Ree Drummond. I also have a sick passion for all things wine: drinking & cooking with!

So, put on your oven mitts and let's share ideas! Also, which are you: A Cook? A Baker? If both, what order?

Love to cook and bake here too!

I got 3 new organic cookbooks for Christmas from my super cool MIL. I've been looking thru them for new recipes and salivating at all the wonderful pictures. My favorite so far is the Earthbound Organic one. I've made the bulk pancake mix with my local fresh-ground whole wheat flour. I also got 3 new cast iron skillets from DH and have been seasoning them and looking forward to using them a lot!

I don't watch a lot of cooking shows but do enjoy watching them when I have time. I will have to see if I can get that cookbook out from my library.

Yay, you just described me, and my vices! I also love Ree Drummond, and can't wait to check out her cookbook. She is my blogging hero!

I would describe myself as a cook first, and an amateur baker. My biggest failures are when experimental baking, but I'm pretty sure that's because I treat baking like cooking too often. I'm always learning and growing as a baker and cook.

Right now I'm loving learning to bake grain free! And starting tomorrow I'm giving myself a 30 day sugar/sweetener free challenge, where I will be blogging and posting grain free sugar/sweetener free recipes that get their "sweetness" from fruit only!!! I'm very excited.
