Does anyone know of any risks of taking antibotics and EBF a 2 month old? Does the baby get the antibotics?

What is the medication? Most antibiotics are safe.

I was on antibiotics for 3 weeks b/c of a staph infection from my c-section incision and really the only issue we had was runn(ier) stools. Augmentin was the first one and I don't remember what the 2nd one was, but they were both Category B for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Most antibiotics are compatible with breastfeeding- you can look up the safety research yourself in LactMed- http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT

Awaken- That's a great link, thanks. I too took Augmentin for pneumonia along with a cough medicine. Both were class B that the doctor choose. I didn't notice any effect although weirdly it seemed like I had even more milk than normal.
