I have friends coming for shabbat dinner in an hour or two (last minute), and of course being New Years day, the stores are closed.
I've got
half a roast duck
mashed sweet potatos
1 or 2 eggs
cabbage
radicchio
lettuce
broccoli
kale
tofu
sweet potatos
potatos
onions
garlic
parmisan
chedder
a can of tomato paste
much of the usual spices
duck fat and drippings
homemade beef stock
sourkraut
olive oil coconut oil
butter
and some other pantry things
pasta and rice (but our guests can't eat pasta and probably wouldn't like unsoaked rice)
What can I use the duck in? I'm thinking of doing some french onion soup without cheese, and plenty of veggie possibilities but no ideas (quickish) for the already cooked duck.

). duck fat, duck, cabbage, sauted onions, sauted garlic, salt, ginger. simple and they loved it! it was fun having guests not related over for dinner to our place for the first time. (actually, the second time I've had guests over for dinner on my own, and the first time was my dad. I'm definitely going to do it more.)
