Dd2's first long train trip is coming up, and from extensive experience with dd1, I am going all prefolds and Dappi nylon pants. Simple, easy to launder, and no worries about ease of use since my mother and I will be doing all the changing.
Btw, my mom loves how much cloth has improved since she was diapering me in the 1970's and her younger siblings in the 1950's. And I am not talking about Snappis or fitteds or pockets, either. Just the basic prefolds are more absorbent, pins are sharper, covers are more durable (and do not produce instant diaper rash, although we still like coverless diapering, about which my mom taught me everything I know).
I love Dappis, particularly how they will not take up space in the luggage. I wish dh liked them, but he is not going with us on this trip, so nyah!
