I had an epiphany about clothes!

My DS recently outgrew almost all of his clothes. Usually I have a plethora of handmedowns, but not this time. I didn't have a bunch of money to spend on clothes either. So I bought some sweatpants for him and instead of buying some shirts, he is now wearing pajama shirts every day with his sweats. He has the 2 piece cotton pajamas, and they look like shirts. So he has 4 pairs of sweats and 2 pair of corderoys, and 2 nice looking shirts to go with the corderoys. He also has a few sweatshirts and one sweater and now his clothes take up so much less space without all those shirts!

DS grows like a weed too and it seems like I need to replace stuff every 8-9 weeks. One thing I have done is cut the sleeves off of the long sleeve shirt and sew them onto still big short sleeve shirts that I know he will outgrow before warmer weather. It is not hard to do..I am not a sewing maven...

I also use old pj's as thermal underwear in the extreme cold weather. They work great!!!

Thanks for the ideas...kids clothing...even thrifted..can get to be expensive, so it's all about extending the life.
