Natural way to keep a hot tub clean?

What was once our birthing tub has become our lovely outdoor hotub! I have pretty much left the hot tub maintenance to my husband but we are out of chemicals and I am not sure we have been using the most natural stuff. We have been using no chemicals lately but we have to drain it more often and that seems like a big waste as well. There is a lot of random stuff on the internet about some chemicals being safer than others, so I am hoping some of you wise mdc mama's can tell me what you do to keep your tub clean?

We fill it with hot water and white vinegar, then run the jets for 20 min or so.

Eta: sorry! We have a jacuzzi inside, not an outside hot tub. If you leave water in it, I'm not sure how to keep it clean/sanitary w/o the icky chemicals... Hopefully you get some good ideas.

A relative of mine uses peroxide. Their pool supply store actually recommended it and they buy the peroxide from them. Although some natural farm feed companies will sell a 45gal drum of 35% peroxide for a fair bit cheaper.

It is LOVELY to sit in! No chemical smells, it leaves your hair and skin so soft and smooth, just so much nicer overall.
