Anyone starting 30 day shred? - Page 3

it came today! i plan on watching it at some point today, and start in the morning!!!
are you guys doing this program every single day?
i am a total novice when it comes to fitness, but i always thought that it is best to work the same muscle groups every other day as opposed to every day.
please tell me!

Totally agree with this!

Seriously, I'm glad I don't have mirrors around when I'm doing this. I just watch those buff girls and think, "That's me!" Bad surprise when I go to shower, though. Ugh. I think I'm suffering from a case of entitlement: I do what they do. Why don't I look like they do? She said if I did what they did I'd look like they do. Waaah. Reality check: 5 days is just the beginning.
LOL! Yes to this! Totally!

Was sick yesterday so missed Day 3 so I did Day 3 and Day 4 today - WOOT!

I think it's best to do it every day. I took yesterday off, b/c I was beat after a really long day. Today, I felt like the workout was harder than before, even though I only took one day off. So, for me, I am planning on just doing it every day. I have a horrible habit of sticking to workout plans, so being honest with myself, I really should exercise every day and that way I can't cheat, b/c I know I have to do it daily.

I think it's best to do *A* workout every day, but I haven't done the phase 1 from 30 day shred every day- I switch between the week one workout and either week two, or one of the fat burn or no more trouble zone workouts. A lot of the focus areas are the same, but at least it's different moves, and I'm still keeping going. I believe for her 30 day shred plan, she does intend for you to do a high intensity workout every single day.

I can't remember where I read it, but some important medical people recommend 60-90 minutes of exercise every day. My vagueness is helpful, hmm?

You ladies have inspired me to start this DVD (was a Christmas present)! I did it once right after Christmas and felt WHIPPED. I'm going to do it tomorrow though!

i just completed my Day One! i did level one, and because i don't have hand weights (yet), i used cans of beans, LOL.

i'm amazed how hard i found it. the moves themselves weren't that difficult (except maybe pushups, i totally need to work on that).. it was quickly moving from one thing to another that i found challenging. i know it's because we're fitting all that into 20 mins. i will build up my stamina, i guess! first steps, right?

Yep, everyday. I think 30 min, every other day is old school.

OK, you all just convinced me - I just ordered the DVD. What else do I need? Just some hand weights?

I'm lugging around 15 pounds of baby weight... the baby is almost 5 months old and I want this pudge GONE!!
you need hand weights, and a yoga mat if you're working out on a hard surface. that's it!

....

you know, that that i've got my first workout behind me, i have felt great today... and knowing that i'm gonna wake up to Jillian tomorrow morning is really helping to keep me motivated with food today, LOL.

I'm starting to think that the 30-day window might be part of the magic of this program. It's not an ambiguous proclamation along the lines of "Here's a video that will get you fit." Rather, it gives very concrete, progressive goals: Do this for ten days. Do that for the next ten. Then do this other thing for another 10 days and then see where you are. We think you'll be pleased.

Day 6 for me. I can feel a change already. It may not be visible in the mirror just yet, but I certainly already feel it on the inside. Yay me!

I've been doing it and am on day 7 (although not consecutive), workout #2 (2nd day of workout #2)

So excited to join this thread! :sub

OKay, I just have to say that I HATE that I have to watch 5 minutes of intro before I can get to the workout menu (dvd won't let me skip forward).

I don't like all the plank stuff in Level 2. I am seeing stars every time I transition from standing to plank and vice versa.

For those of you who have the other workout dvds or the Biggest Loser dvds, do they show the past participants? I think I'd find watching them inspiring. I think they're called CardioMax and something else? Just curious. What do you think?

And yes, I agree - I really like Jillian's attitude and the way she doesn't sugar-coat things. I think I'll stick with this for at least 30 days.

just completed day 2!! definitely still have lots to work on (push ups!), and i think i will be at level 1 for a while. that's okay though, i don't want to switch levels until i get really good at level 1. i had set my alarm for 6am, but i guess my body/brain was excited to do this again, because it woke me up at 5, and wouldn't let me go back to sleep... so i just got up and did the work out. yea! and i still have a house full of sleepy children, and a few more minutes *to myself*!! that alone is reward enough for getting up early and getting my butt in gear!

I've seen a couple people mention the long intro thing, both here and in reviews of the movie-- Can you not just fast forward with the DVD remote search button? Mine lets me do that, so I just put it on x18 or something like that, and it goes quick.

The three jillian movies I have don't have any past participants, but I think some of the other Biggest Loser ones do, if I remember correctly.

I got hubby to do the workout last night and it killed him. hehe.
for me, my dvd player lets me fast forward thru the ads for the other dvd's, but not her whole intro to the 30 day shred.. explaining the levels and and 3-2-1 workout and all that... when i try to just push "menu", it doesn't let me do that either. so i usually take that time to get ready, get my water and my weights and everything organized. it would be great to just push play!!!

That one is a serious killer. I thought I would die after that one too! It is great though.
