A little backgroud:
I have been a professional Nanny for over 15 years and now as a Mom to 13 month old DD I am doing everything different than I ever have with the familes I have worked for. And loving it.
I take my daughter to work with me and the child I nanny for is exactly 1 year older than dd. She started a montessori preschool in September and is pretty much toilet trained now. She exceeded our expectations and it has been a very quick and easy process. DD has always been interested in the potty and gone many times at various ages and stages when I would put her on it but we have not done anything consistant up to this point. As of a couple of weeks ago she started bringing me the potty and I would see/feel that she was going at that moment. She hated the IKEA potty though so I bought a more comfortable one and she has gone a few times but she also gets very upset when I put her on sometimes and looks really freaked out.
She says "poop" or "Kate poop" sometimes and can stop her stream of urine until we get to the toilet.
I am ordering Diaper Free Baby right now along with some "pull up type water proof panties". We are changing over to complete cloth and I let her be naked or as close to it as possible throughout the day.
How do you get a dry baby at night who is nursing all night long? Her morning diaper is a sight to be seen!
What is a realistic timetable for her if we are just starting?
