Potty Training Delima

Ok my 3 year old wants to potty train at times but others not. For example, she will do good for 2 days and then messes for 2 weeks. No matter what I do, She still potty's in her pull up. You can ask her if she needs to go potty, she will tell you no then potty in her trainer. Am I doing something wrong? Is my parenting contributing to this? What do I do? My 4 year old was trained completely by the time she was 1 month past her 3rd birthday. I'm lost.

Ditch the pull ups. Sure they are marketed to be just like underwear that absorbs like diapers but to a LO they just look like a diaper with big kid characters. Get some panties. Having pee run down your legs will be harder to ignore. I bought pull ups and my DS couldn't understand why I didn't want him to pee/poo in them. It will be messy...and you will spend lots of time cleaning up. Get her to help. You stand and oversee and have her do most of the wiping up. It worked for us. I am no expert though. Hopefully it will help!

I 2nd trading in the pullups for undies. When nannying I found that pullups were only goon for naps & night. Day time was for reg undies. My boys all trained pretty fast once we switched.

We started working with my 3-year-old DS 2 weeks ago and only do underpants during the day (pullups at night). Within 2-3 days he caught on completely and has had very few accidents. In fact, we took him skiing for the first time today and I asked him if he wanted a pullup and he said no. And we had no accidents! I am amazed at how quickly he has picked it up. Good luck to you.

I do nekkie-butt until puddles on the floor are rare to nonexistant and then undies. Pull-ups are for overnights, long car trips, and outings where public bathrooms are few and far between.
