Playgroup in Tucson 2010 - Page 13

HELLO to the new mama's!!

I have been missing park days because we've been so busy getting our house ready to sell, and I've had 2 migraines in 2 weeks (due to all the lifting I think). Of course on Thursday last wk, and Tues. this week...ugh!
Now that its mostly done we'll NEED to be out of the house for showings(hopfully!) and to keep it clean!

So if anyone is up for doing anything let me know!!

Pam, we LOVE toddler story time at the downtown library. Thursdays at 10. The librarian has a real gift with children--she's one of those magical people that kids really respond to. And she does all sorts of stuff--reads stories, does some dance-type activities, does a story using felt pieces on a board, etc. And there is a craft at the end.

I'm actually feeling sad that Carter is getting closer to the "preschool" storytime age, though maybe she does that one too?

Hope everybody is doing well. We are getting by!

Beth at Himmel does a great preschool time. Friday's at 10:30. She's especially great for babytime. I hardly got to take baby 2 there because of conflicts with naps (and my general overwhelmed status) and I really regret that.

All the librarians do dances and crafts. But finding someone who works well with kids is a plus.

Hey pam, sorry if I was way aloof at the library today. right before storytime i'd had a weird (and negative) encounter with another mom in the kid's section and was feeling a little shaky.

That sucks. I figured you were in new mom to two overload. BTDT.

Life is getting so much better with our 2. My house is actually clean!!!! Not to pre-kid levels. Or even pre-2nd kid, but it's so much better (and less embarrassing) than it was.

And I've started doing some science experiments with my guy. Yesterday we mixed vinegar and baking soda. Today we mixed oil, water, and food coloring.

Now if only the baby would stop whining when she's bored (which is any time we're in the house and not in the yard or out and about.)

haha, that too! but thats 24/7! Add an awkward encounter in which a woman shouts "he is a very mean little boy!" about your kid, and you've got a GREAT morning... not.

Not sure what time you guys settle down in the evenings, but your guy might like going to the Flandrau observatory at the U of A--have you ever been? It's open to the public a few nights a week, and they turn the telescope on different objects. We took carter a couple weeks ago and looked at a nebula, the moon, and saturn. I'm not sure carter really understood what we were doing, but he had a kick seeing the big telescope and shouted "i saw it! I saw it! i saw saturn!"-- plus it's just nice to be out at night when it's so beautiful out.

Reeve Anastasios was born at 9:14 p.m. Saterday April 10th! He weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. it was a VERY long prodromal labor and some pit to get things going again. I made it through epidural free though! So glad he's finally here and trying to recover. There was a cyst in my perineum that the skin burst over it and they removed it. i'm VERY sore down there! my BF goes back to work tomorrow (actually went to his 2nd job tonight) so i'm alone with the kids pretty much all day (cept for 1 hr) for the next few days and i'm hoping i make it through without going insane.

nak sounds wonderful! hard day. had 1st dr appt for reeve by myself and kids were hard. ayla has what i think is a uti...first ever though so not sure. dr said that i am not compatable with their practice so should go elsewhere. now need all your guys recs and see if any are covered by ahcccs. reeve weighs 7 5 oz now but healthy of course! i checked him out ama from hospital so cps was supposedly notified. we"ll see what happens.

anyone want 2 preschoolers?

what makes you incompatable? sheesh. we go (sometimes, not for a while!) to catalina pediatrics; they take ahcccs (my kids are on the 'university family' plan on ahcccs, that's the one our ped accepts).

we could certainly use some company over here! it's really hard having no family around and no one to visit or help. kids are going a little crazy and i'm starting to feel sad about being all alone! we're here all day...call or pm me for directions!

we're not "compatible" because I didn't do the vaxs or screening tests. they didn't even bother asking if i planned to refuse or delay or whatever.

I'll PM you about a visit.

Catalina Pediatrics isn't in Catalina! It's at Swan/Ft. Lowell. Not sure if that's far from you or not. we are delaying vaxes and they have been fine, they just make us sign a waver.

Reeve has some skin legions that i thought were normal "baby never lifts his arms so they don't dry out" type things but they hadn't gotten any better. Went to the ped yesterday and she was also very concernced so checked into TMC. Here's my thread on stuff so far.

Also bubbamommy is having her c/s today...so she's around here somewhere too! Of course she gets a brand new baby to take home..hopefully we'll leave our infections here....

Congratulations on your new little one, Danielle! Hope he is doing much better in no time.

I haven't been around much as my life has been thrown into chaos lately. I wondered if anybody is up to anything today? I'd love to see you ladies and the kids need some playmate time!

Hannah, I left you a voicemail. I'm planning on trying out toddler storytime at Himmel at 10:30. Depending on the weather we might stay after and play on the playground. I'll bring a picnic lunch for my kiddos. My guy said he'd like to play with Alina today. Would you like to join us? Would you prefer to do something other than the park? You can call me or I'll check back here in awhile.

Ok so I lost my cell phone. Like really really lost it into a black hole somewhere between my house and a friend's house so anyway, sorry I wasn't in touch today, Pam! Everybody PM me your phone numbers if you'd like to stay in touch because I had to get a new phone. :/
