AF returning at 6 WK PP?????

Is this really happening? Six weeks pp...bright red blood?

I'm exclusively bf #3. With #1 af returned at 13 months. With #2 it returned at18 months. How can it return only 2 wk after pp bleeding stopped????

Someone please tell me it's a fluke aand hasn't returned permanently.

Lots of women get a second wave of pp bleeding. Are you sure you were done completely? Was there still spotting? With my last one I bled on and off for 12 weeks.

It's normal to have a hormonal bleed around 5-7 weeks. Based on your history I'm thinking it's not AF. Although I got AF back at 16 weeks PP first time (exclusively BFing), 7 weeks second time (ecologically bfing). Both times AF returned like clockwork every 28-30 days after. Did you experience any symptoms of ovulation? I had cramping and sore nipples before AF showed each time.

Aimee, congrats on the new baby! A resumed PP bleed around 6 weeks is normal in a breastfeeding mom and does not mean AF is back. If you google "6th week bleed" or similar variations you should be able to find some more information.

For me, AF comes back that early. Hopefully for you, it isn't.

I hope not! AF came back for me at 6 weeks with my DS. I was horrified! It came back after 5 months with DD.

ETA: I was totally exclusively BFing both, co-sleeping with DD.

Mine came back at 6 weeks pp! lol I had four weeks of PP bleeding and then a week 'off' - and then my period! Joy of joys! lmao I wonder if it had to do with how my son nursed? He only woke once in the night for example (3AM every time - he was like clockwork that child of mine! lol). I am banking on this one waking every hour lmao.
I would love for my period to not come back so soon this time around! lmao

it is very likely not your period, like others mentioned - i had bleeding at 6 weeks with both mine that could have looked like a period but it wasn't, AF didn't return for real until 6.5 (DD) and 10.5 (DS) months

Mine was back around 6 weeks with my first two kids, and in about 2 months with number three. In spite of nursing, cosleeping, etc. Some of us are just "lucky" that way!
