As I mentioned, I am a clothes horse but that doesn't mean I don't declutter and pare down. What has helped me over the past 2-3 years is I really had to get hard on myself with the age appropriate clothing. For example, I had a lot of cute "saying" t-shirts or ones that were decorated in a more youngish way. Nothing wrong with trying to stay young BUT I realized in a picture, I thought I was being cute and instead I looked like a 35 year old women with a teenagers t-shirt on. This helped me remove a large bag of clothing from my closet. I kept my 4 favorites- for working out---mostly for yoga because they are comfortable. I also donated several pairs of shorts and a few summer dresses---wrong prints, too short or too fussy. By dressing my age---now dowdy mind you---but appropriate and honoring the woman I am, has helped me downsize a bit and avoid costly buying mistakes at the store. Just a thought.
