Noisy Klean Kanteen

I know these have been discussed a hundred times.....we just got them so they are new to us.

The sport top adapters make a squealing sound when we sip out of them. 2 out of the 3 make a noise when you suck on it. Normal? If so...really annoying!

I'm not overly sensitive to 'funny' tastes but I really find a metal aftertaste from these. Yuck....kids don't say anything, but I sure noticed it. Wondering if amalgam fillings contribute to that? Are all stainless thermos going to have this taste?

Any how, just trying to decide if these are keepers between the noise and the taste.

The squeak is normal--I'm actually surprised they don't all squeak. It's just the sound of the air moving through the valve so the water will flow out. The old sport tops didn't have the valve and it was much harder to drink from them.

For the metal taste, try filling them with water and soaking them overnight. You can add some baking soda to the soak if you want to.

Turns out they do all squeak...dd is just not an aggressive sucker I guess. What dribbles out when she tips it is enough for her. I tried hers and it squeaked.

So, as you say it's normal. Rats.

I'll try soaking mine and see if I notice a change for the better.
