Hey everyone !

Just a word to say I'll be out of town until friday and I dont know if I will have internet access where I am going. I am going to give training to workers in a new women's shelter in a native reservation in a very isolated region... quite an adventure, I cant wait to meet with nature and learn more about that community and its people. This being said, I have a feeling that spending 7-8-9-10 and 11DPO without DP and without internet access isnt going to be a party...

So far so good tho, our temps are unusually high for a second day in a row today so I guess that is good. DP had some nausea last night, she actually went so far as to run to the bathroom and sit by the toilet for a bit... so who knows...

We plan on testing friday morning (no, I wont be there...). FF says to wait until saturday but since we had what we thought was an implantation dip at 5DPO, 11DPO is probably ok to test.

Well, still higher than usual. And your DP looks as thought she doesn't have as much variability between pre- and post-O temps as I, so perhaps just a slight deviation higher than normal is actually a big deal for her! At least, that's what I'll be hoping for you both!

I have a quick question about frozen donor sperm and dry ice. Can I keep the sperm frozen for 3-4 days if I keep re-filling the cooler?

I just got my 11 dpo beta #s back:

HCG = 47 and progesterone = 42

They think it's low, but it's only because they don't "believe" me that I O'ed on CD 19 and are dating me from LMP. I'm dumb. I never should have told them my actual LMP. Oh well!

Going back tomorrow for a repeat!

Tigerlily – If you used CCB you can take your tank to their Cambridge office and have the tank refilled for free. I haven't personally tried that, but they told me that they will do that, and that there is no fee.I don't know about the dry ice. Good luck.

Idjits. It doesn't matter how high the hcg is, it's how fast it's doubling, so don't worry about that. That number seems perfectly fine to me - you can check beta base if you're worried. What DPO was it drawn?

I really don't know anything about progesterone numbers, just that they're supposed to go up or stay stable, but not fall. In the high-tech conception world, it's all supplementation, all the time.

I'm going in tomorrow for my beta, for good news! I need to pee on another stick, but I'm not doing it until tomorrow morning, I don't want to risk seeing the nasty word before the good word, so I'll wait for morning pee.

My nausea is already kicking in - I went to acupuncture today, and I'll be going twice a week for the next few weeks, to keep whatever is there sticking, and to keep the nausea at bay. I think I'm easily suggestible, as soon as I see a positive stick, I start feeling nauseated.

(I am not complaining, I do a little every time I feel a little queasy.)

In other news, a random twist of fate, good timing, kindness of relative strangers and even stranger strangers has potentially brought us a spermcicle for this next try, so we're taking a break from our KD and I'm going to get a little help from a provider (the thawing at home business has got me freaked - ha).

re QOTD(what day was that?)-What are your plans for childcare: working, staying home, daycare, etc once the little one is here?

I think we're planning on shuffling schedules so that we can share childcare and work/school at the same time - though my sister (who is a massage therapist) has offered to make the trek down to the contiguous 48 to be our nanny...so I guess we'll see.

Here's hoping nausea to the lot of you (or, you know, the good stuff without the upset tum).

11dpo. So the number is perfectly fine, according to everything I've looked at! I'm going in tomorrow AM to see how it's rising. Prolly won't get those results till Thurs.

Lyndzies: ditto for you, sweetie! Absolutely, your numbers are strong, given when you O-ed. The 50th percentile on 14 DPO is HCG=50 (Cole et al. 2004.) So your # is very strong. (Stupid clueless OBGYN staff and their lazy reliance on LMP!) Now, let's see that number double!

Quick, you guys, pass me the BFP baton! My first HCG test is tomorrow (11 DPO).

They made me wait 'til 14 dp retrieval, 11 DP 3 D transfer. Cruel doctors.

Lyndzies - I get my labs run at the hospital, and when they see "STAT" they get them in ASAP. Last time, I had blood drawn, took my dogs to the dog park, they did the analysis, faxed the report to the RE, the nurse got it, took it to the RE who reviewed it and told her to call me back, and she got back to me before I'd finished walking the dogs. It's typically a one to four hour turnaround, which kind of makes my head spin, but is typical for REs.

(Try taking the req to the hospital and writing STAT on it yourself, with the same colour pen....)

J on planet - if you wanna take over the thread, all you gotta do is update that first post. I'll keep it 'til feb and then I can PM you the code, so all you do is copy and paste. You can insist that people PM you for a status change or ask for it in bold or whatever would make it easier for you to keep up. It's usually just a status change every day or three.

It's a lucky job! The threadkeeper has gotten knocked up that month at least twice in the past year. (Carmen, then me!)

tigerlily- I don't think dry ice would work to keep the tank cold enough. Most of the time, the samples are stored in liquid nitrogen, which is about -321 degrees F, whereas dry ice is only -69 degrees F. So I think there would be a potential for them to thaw a little and die. But, you can definitely refill a tank to keep them frozen with liquid nitrogen. You might ant to check with the bank you're using though. Some don't allow you to refill the tanks. When we did it, we went through an oxygen supply company. Another place to look into is a welding supply company. A note of caution... the tanks really only have a small amount of liquid nitrogen in them. One time we refilled the tank and they put a few liters into the tank. When I went to send it back, the tank was smoking in the delivery truck and the company called me to let me know that haz mat was going to be investigating what type of materials I was transporting.

Lyndzies- Those numbers sound great to me. Not sure about the progesterone since I never had that run before, but the beta sounds fine as long as it's doubling. We ended up lying about my LMP to most of the people we went to. My general practitioner knew when it was, but I also brought in my charts and told her there was no way I could have ovulated earlier because it would have been a week before we inseminated if it was going by a 28 day cycle. The other places I said, "Well I O'd on this date, so it doesn't matter when my LMP was." They gave me funny looks, but were able to figure out what the due date would be. smartycat was worried they'd give us the wrong date so she insisted on them knowing the date of insem instead.

AFM- I finally got a temp that looks like a post-O temp. Hopefully it will stay up for three days and beyond so I can measure my LP and get on with the next cycle.
