New Year, reNewed Hope - Queer Conceptions January 2010 - Page 17

I'm still waiting for my second beta...omg, how is this little two day wait so much worse than most two week waits????

The repeat is tomorrow, which is actually three days, because apparently the new guidelines are that the hcG number should double every 24 - 96 hours to be considered ok. That's a pretty big range! So, my RE is now ordering second betas 72 hours after the first.

I feel like a whiny kid in a car....are we there yeeeeeeeeeet????

And...I got a letter from the meanie clinic I saw way back in September...they finally said that they will not treat me. It hurts. I don't know why, I really thought it wouldn't if I was getting treated somewhere else. I thought it wouldn't when that treatment worked and I was pregnant, which is where I'm at, but I'm still feeling like crapola about it. Thank every fertility deity there is that I didn't get this letter last week, if it hurts this much now, it would have made me insane a week ago.

That's still a great beta! YAY!!!! Are you going for an early U/S?

I've been dipping my toes in the October DDC, but I'm afraid to really get in there.

Ha ha, that's because you're pregnant.

My DT was 32.something hours and so was DW's.

The wait draaaaaaaags on, for sure. Can't wait to see your high repeat numbers.

Also, I'm really sorry to hear about the meanie clinic. Screw them. They can go hang out with my nasty nurse.

I don't think we're going to go for a particularly early u/s. I have my first appointment w/ a potential midwife at 6w2d, but I think it's just an initial "history/getting to know you" kind of thing. I have my first "official" prenatal appointment with the Office From Hell at 8w4d... maybe that's when they do an u/s there? I have no freaking clue. They might be fired by then, anyway.

And, do what feels right about the Oct DDC... but of course I could use another queer buddy in there.

If you are wanting a gaggle of queer procreators to write letters to that clinic expressing our outrage and stating the fact that they will never see a penny of our reproductive dollars, just say the word.

Millet and Everyone- When did you decide to go in to get tests done? Did you just use your regular nurse? I'm thinking about doing it.

I'm 13DPO and 27 days into my cycle, still doing the very light spotting I started on 7DPO. I'm confused. I would have thought I would have AF by now if not pregnant. This is my first full month on acupuncture, herbs, tinctures, and teas, I'm wondering if that is throwing my body off. I am going to call the doctor tomorrow to ask for tests. I am sure they will know what to do, because I sure don't.

^^ True that - say the word.

Meanwhile, Papa, do you have a back up that feels comfortable? Or do you have someone to go and advocate with you somewhere new (sometimes it's helpful just to have someone else around to keep the meanies in check).

I'm afraid I just can't take over the updates, lucky or not. It would be unfair to the rest of you given how infrequently I'm managing to get over here. I think I saw Mistral put a hand up?

Such a flurry of activity here! maxK, i'm interested to hear what you find out from the doc.

Meanwhile, stars are aligning and I'll go in for my first (and probably only) medically assisted attempt on the 4th. Nervous, frankly.

Anxiously awaiting your great numbers, papa!

wherli - !!

j_on_planet - Why probably the only attempt (I mean, of course I'd hope it would be the only... since hopefully it'll work!)? I'm sorry, I may have missed why in an earlier post.

maxK - hmmmmmm re: the spotting. I'm not sure, but definitely something worth asking your doc about (although, in my experience, my "regular" docs have sort of been idiots when it comes to anything fertility-related).

AFM - you know.. just (<-I love that one, too!!!)

Good Day,

Papa – Have you gotten your afternoons back yet? Beta results today right – 3 hours? I am so sorry to hear about the meanie clinic.

Lyndzies – What's going on?

Wehrli – I hope you O'ed when you wanted to O. I also hope you get your computer back soon, I cannot imagine using my WII to view this tread!

J on Planet – Good luck with your first medically assisted attempt on the 4th, how exciting!

Maxk – Have you called a doctor yet?

Millet – You have to rub it where?!

AFM: Yesterday my temp rose and I was happy, this morning my temp dropped and I was not happy, although, this time I did not cry. It was cold last night, and that may have attributed to the temp drop, or it could not have. I've vowed not to stress out about it today.

As for my "symptoms" boy did they come early – I've had an excessive amount of CM for the past 2 ½ days, I'm talking excessive, like needing to change things, takes 3 wipes to make it go away excessive. Although it wasn't fertile, it started to worry me so I POAS OPK and it was negative, I was starting to wonder. But now it's gone. I've also had a headache a mild one for 3 days now. I don't get headaches often. I also had a tiny bit of nausea after eating tomato soup, although, I'm attributing that one to an increase in progesterone, I read that it can cause nausea. I have my progesterone test on Monday, so I'm curious to see what those numbers are.
I have no feelings either way if I am pregnant or not, frankly, my chart annoyed me so much that I'm trying to step back.

DW actually asked if I would POAS on 8 DPO and I said absolutely not! She wanted to know before her business trip.

Funny story – My DW's bio mom actually called and asked if I was pregnant because she cracked a double yolk, and she claims that means someone is pregnant, no one else she knows is pregnant, so she figured it had to be me. Of course, DW got excited, I for one am not buying it.

On Monday, DW bought me a new purse and then on Wednesday night, I had a dream that I was in the elevator at work with my new purse and he elevator broke, so I was trapped inside and I was freaking out because I was stuck in there and I was pregnant… I recall that I picked up the phone in the elevator to call for help and I said that the elevator was broken and it's important that I get out because I'm pregnant, and I was sure to make them aware that I was not showing yet.

That was the weirdest dream I have ever had. But I'm not buying the weird pregnancy dream thing either….

Lastly - Since J on Planet is not taking the thread keeper position next month, I will go ahead and take it.

Mistral - I will e-mail you the code for the thread over the weekend, and you can start whenever!

I am officially GRADUATING from this thread!

The second beta was 459, so my doubling time is about 32 hours!!!!

My progesterone is abysmal, 10.something, but she said that the progesterone levels don't matter because I'm taking the supplements.

I'm so happy, I think I'm in shock.

SUCH great news! When's your EDD? We must be w/in days of each other, yes?

Yay Papa . I love the as well.

mistral and wehrli

AFM I'm still waiting to O - hopefully next Tues/Wed. Interestingly I think I've been reading too much about TTC as I had a dream the other night about giant sperm...

BTW thanks for the tips on the tanks. I'll actually be picking up the sperm from the clinic (Fenway) and that's why I would be using dry ice. I don't think it'll be a problem now as I think I'll be picking up the vials on Monday or Tuesday and should only have to keep them frozen for a couple of days.

EDD is 10/10/10

Ok, really, it's a few days before that, but I figure I'll go "late" like everyone else, and that's a really fun date, so why not pick it?

Papa- YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! So happy to hear those #'s. Hopefully a bunch of us will get to join you over on Q&P soon!
