Homebirth MW's around Albany, NY???

Hi!
Right now DH and I live in NH, but we're going to be moving most likely to the albany, ny area or somewhere close to there this summer.
What is the homebirth situation like there?
Are there CNMs practicing there?
How about CPMs? Are CPMs prohibited to practice (by this, I mean, does the law explicitly say they are not allowed to practice midwivery)?

Not pregnant yet that i know of... just thinking ahead. I really want to have a home birth. With my DD we started at home and then had to transfer. Thank goodness we were planning a homebirth. I would have been sectioned for sure if we hadn't!

Thanks so much for your help! Also, I'm not too familiar with this site yet, so if I don't answer right away, it may be bc I haven't figured out how to work my way around this website yet!

YES!

There is a wonderful, legal home birth midwife in the area called Michelle Doyle. Her practice is Local Care Midwifery, and I can honestly say that I've *never* had better care than what I've had from her. Michelle is so kind and extremely on top of current research. I'm a current client, my insurance is covering her at 100%, and we couldn't be happier.

Here's her website!

And welcome to the Albany area!

Thanks for those names and for the welcome! I can't wait to start looking for houses and things like that so we know exactly where we'll be.

Are there any other MWs?
Also with Michelle's practice are there other midwives that practice with her or just the MW assistants?

Anyone know about the CPM situation?
