smelly bum

OK this is weird but when I change my daughter I have noticed that her bum stinks. Not like urine not like poo, but like stinky cheese...does that make any sense at all. Ok she has had bad rashes, looks like the skin is burned. I soaked her bum once a day for two days in a sink full of water (2 gallons) and 3/4 cup of cider vinegar...the rash is gone but the stink is still there. Her skin peeled off and between the creases of her leg and pubic area there is "build up" and it smells...any thoughts?

I use to use a & D and butt paste and anything else. but recently I have resorted only to all natural and no zinc (cloth diaper friendly only!). SO we have some peter rabit stuff, some "un petroleum" and lanolin. We have recently started ECing....some. Still wear dipes, but no poop in the diapers (she poops 1-2 times a day, in the potty).

She is 3 months old...help! If your advice it to go to the Doc...then what would you have them test? or just give a visual and diagnose that way??

Sounds like yeast to me, but I'm no expert, neither of my kids has been rashy, ever.

Yep, sounds like a yeast infection, esp the "build up" (is it like cottage cheese bits) and funky smell. If you're not familiar with yeast infections, I'd take her to the ped to get a Dx, but if it were me I'd just treat it with an antifungal.
