heating pad for yogurt--a couple ?'s

If I use my heating pad, do I set it on warm or low?
Should I insulate the bottom of the jar or place it directly on top of the pad?

Thanks!

Depends on the heating pad. Most get really hot, even on the lowest setting. I'd fill a jar with water at 110 degrees (or whatever you will be incubating the yogurt at) and use a candy thermometer to test over the period of several hours how got the water gets. Then you can figure out if you need insulation, etc.
