It seems like a major change like that would be caused by a major stress. Is there anything going on that would seriously stress him out? New sibling, pregnancy, move, etc? It doesn't sound like it would be caused by UP or a change of discipline styles, unless it were a change to an abusive discipline style or something that would scare him. It seems like a switch to UP might make him more prone to try to get away with things rather than make him fearful.

Nothing has changed other than discipline style. We were a yelling, send to your room type because of how we were raised and the same would happen when he was with family. He was often called a "problem child", "bad seed" by his grandmothers and we just never wanted that for our kids.

Can there be stricter boundaries while implementing UP?
