Help with sleep issue...

Hey fellow October DDC mamas, I need help! Can anyone recommend a book re: baby's sleep?

Our little one is 8 weeks old. I need to figure out how to get her to bed earlier in the evenings. Typically, she won't go down before 1a-2a. After that, she's a great sleeper -- sleeping until ~9a most mornings (with a few feedings in there).

It's hard to stay up that late, but doable while I'm home. I have to go back to work in 4 weeks though and there's no way I can stay up until 2a, get up at 6a, and work a full day. How can I push her schedule back a few hours? (Say 10p to 6a)?

Any suggestions for books/methods/etc would be appreciated.

Hope you are all doing well and your little pumpkins are healthy and happy!

How does your lo sleep during the day? Someone on here suggested acting like it is day during the day and night at night. I hadn't thought about it that way, but that is exactly what we do. During the day Veronica is with us all the time. She takes a couple of catnaps during the day, but no long naps. If she is sleeping soundly I may put her down on the bed, but we don't draw the shades and aren't fanatical about being quiet. By the time dinner time hits she is definitely winding down for the day and sleeps great at night.

to you, I can't imagine how that would be, although sometimes dd does stay up late (but so do ds and I), and I don't have to go to any paid job. I have heard that if you wake them up earlier by half an hour each day then it's easier to get them to bed earlier. How does she sleep during the day? Lightly or deeply?

we have a similar issue. baby naps great during the day and sleeps between midnight and 8-10AM. but 6PM-midnight she won't sleep more than a 20 minute cat nap at a time. I've been thinking it's "the witching hour" b/c she also cluster feeds and screams a lot during this time.
maybe she's sleeping too much during the day. I dunno. I'm hoping by 4 months she's fall asleep earlier.
she's screaming now...

One other thing was you want to get them out in the sunshine as early in the morning as possible (this stimulates serotonin and melatonin).
