I was at a local Pharmaprix today and noticed that what they write on the aisle that has formula is "Lait Maternisé" which translates roughly as Maternised Milk as in milk that has made to be like maternal breastmilk.

Is that the habitual way to refer to formula in French? I did a quick search and it seems the packaging always says "Preparation pour nourrissons" which would translate as Infant Formula.

I'm just so completely shocked. I do plan on writing to Pharmaprix (perhaps also checking to see if other stores have the same name for it).

I don't think it's just a pharmaprix issue...I'm french canadian and I've always heard people say "lait maternise" when thay talk about formula
