Garbanzo Beans / Chick Peas

I found a couple old closed threads about these with people saying that they planned to try them. Any luck?

My DH's family loves to bake fresh garbanzos with olive oil, salt and pepper. They are . We've been getting them when we make our monthly trip to Jungle Jim's, but I'd love to grow them myself. I got my MIL to start a garden last year and I know she'd love some too.

Insights?

I grew these last year and I really liked eating them green (right off the plant). The plants are fairly small and don't produce many beans: 2 maximum in a pod and maybe 8-16 pods on a plant? If you pick the pods off when they are green they will continue to produce more through out the season. I only saved enough beans to plant next year, I didn't eat any of the beans once they were dried.
Overall, cute plant with pretty little leaves and pods. Fun to snack on when you're just hanging out outside, but you will need A LOT of garden space to get any kind of significant return on the dried beans.

Bumping up. I don't think I want any dried beans, just the fresh ones.
