Thread Starter
I did not do well last month at all.
I would like to lose at least 3lbs this month.
I need to weigh myself in the morning to know my start weight.

Anyone else want to join me?

I'm still in/back. Have lost 1-2 lbs in December but need to lose more. All the holiday eating has been brutal! Am trying to exercise 3-4 days a week. Would like to lose another 3-4....

I did horribly in December. I have lost 37 lbs and gained back 10 over the holidays . My goal is to lose at least 5 of them.

I'm in. I got a Wii Fit for Christmas so I'm eager to put it to use. Also I ate a lot of junk over the holidays and am really ready for eating better (and for my pants to be less tight!)

Oh good, I was hoping this thread was still around. Hi, doriansmummy! We've been here before! I gained 5 lbs during the holidays. I think I have dropped a little in the last week but haven't checked since coming home from holiday. I'll look tomorrow. It was 5 lbs to go though when I came home. I don't feel up to the counting points thing (I lost my weight with ww) so I'm just being careful, exercising, and tracking with sparkpeople.com at the end of the day (I've got a good memory for what I've eaten so it's better for me to do it at the end of the day instead of obsessing all day and entering each thing as it goes down.)

Darn, planned for a good workout today and now the snow may hinder my drive to the gym, ditto for tomorrow

I weighed in and am down 2+ since Saturday. I'm glad. I *figured* that once I got home and returned to my normal habits the weight would come off again. Must keep it up for the other 3 lbs.

Subbing. Aiming for 5.

Alright... I am back in. I gained about 5 lbs. I ate too much over x-mas and can't run outside because I fall on my butt every time. I hate winter running.

The Y is having a deal now with a reduced joiners fee, so I am going to sign the family up tomorrow. Hopefully, dh will join me!

Good luck to us all. I hate being right back here.

I'm in. I'm 2 weeks postpartum, and have lost 30 lbs since giving birth . . . problem is, I gained 70 lbs this pregnancy. I'm getting a Wii Fit in a few weeks, but it's still too early for me to do much exercise.

Subbing and aiming for 5 lbs this month. Starting weight is . . . uuughhh... 190.5 lbs.

In the past pregnancy, how long did it take you? What was your gain? Do you know about babyfit.com? Think of it this way. Those 70 lbs are no longer 70lbs. Their 40 lbs--5 more than the "recommended" 35. You'll probably continue to lose a bit rapidly for the first while just naturally if you are careful. What I did at first was to determine my pre-pregnancy weight OR my goal weight and find a calorie recommendation for maintaining THAT weight (thedailyplate.com can do it for you). Say it was 2000 calories (I'm just being arbitrary.) Then ADD 500 to that for breastfeeding, to take it to 2500. Any exercise you do (say you burn 100 calories in a day of exercise) gets ADDED on to that for a total of 2600. With exercise you must be very careful, because we often overestimate how much we are burning. I went ahead and got a heartrate monitor so that I could be accurate. Anyway, using an accurate count like this will help you to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight or your goal weight. Correct me if there is a problem with this, mamas, it's early!

I gained 60 lbs with my 2nd pregnancy, and I think it took me about ten months to lose it all (I was admittedly lazy about it, though - could've done it much faster). My goal weight is 135. Thedailyplate gave me 2087 cal/day to maintain that weight (5'8", lightly active), and while nursing I tend to average about 2200, so losing the weight shouldn't be too much of a problem. I just need accountability so I stay away from the junk food DH tends to bring into the house!

I weighed in at 187 today, down 3.5 lbs.

You'll be fine, dantesmama, just keep it up! Where is everyone?

Checking in...I'm down 1/2 a pound. (Hey, I'll take what I can get!)

I added in two yoga classes during the week, so I'm at the gym almost every day. I've also done a lot more conscious portion control the past few days.

Hitting the gym tonight for my fave bootcamp aerobics class
Guess I'll even weigh in....would be happy with even a 1/2 lb. loss! I'm getting discouraged!

I have lost the 5 I was aiming for so now I am upping the game and trying for a total of 10 lbs lost this month.
