Ha! Guess I haven't updated my status since the original thread last year. My little dorf priestess has been 80 for a while now. Let my account lapse at the end of last summer when I started my own business. Reinstated it around Halloween, intending to do some of the celebratory stuff, but never did get around to it. Lapsed it again, and reinstated this week to give it another try.

I do like the new LFG system for the most part, although it is still pugs (and all that entails). We had a guy, from our own server no less, freak out on us because we had a couple of wipes on Heroic ToC while the tank was figuring out the best way to do the end fight. He'd never tanked it before (4 of us were guildies, 1 pug) and he just needed to figure out the best way to handle it. The pug started swearing and calling him an f'ing idiot. Hmmm, liked that Boot Vote feature. We got another pug, finished the fight the very next time.

As a healer, however, I don't particularly care that it will categorically put only one healer into a group. Not all groups work out well with just a single healer and a stable-full of DPS that can't swap as backup healer when needed.

One of my resolutions this year is to get at least one alt to 80. I'd prefer to get two to 80, but considering it took me a year and a half to get Sareatha there, I figure I don't want to be greedy.

I'm trying to decide if I want to concentrate on my pally or my rogue though. Neither are thrilling me right now, but none of the other classes did either. I think I just need to get to a higher level and then maybe I'll enjoy it. I also considering trying a DK again, but dang... I really really hated every DK I've started so far.

But I do have a gear/stat question, though.

For my main, who is a feral druid, I mostly solo in cat form and I like doing DPS with her. I know critical strike stats are important, but what about attack power? I got a helmet drop that would give me a +43 armor, +38 attack power, +19 agility, +13 stamina, but a -14 critical strike. I also got a belt in a quest reward that would give a +72 armor, +32 attack, +16 agility, +11 hit, and a -6 critical strike.

Are those other stats a good enough trade-off for losing all that critical strike? I guess my question boils down to "how important is critical strike"?

For feral dps cat, Agility is most the most important stat. Attack power is more used when being a bear tank. The + crit strike rating is second most important, but not more important than agility. You can also look at the gear score of said item. Generally speaking, high score = better gear.

Minor PSA, though: Change your password occasionally, make sure you're merged with battle.net, and get an authenticator. DH got hacked Christmas Day, and all 4 of his 80's were wiped clean of all but the rep gear with no sell price. He has his stuff back now (some in duplicate-- while waiting on Blizz to track down his stuff, he was busting his butt running heroics to get the stuff back!) and we have the authenticators, but we're letting our friends know to be careful out there.

My husband's account was hacked three days after my sister's was, all within one week's time, both of their characters were in the same guild. My sister did not have the battlenet account yet, my husband had just combined his about a week earlier. Blizzard recovered everything for both of them. We could see someone log on my husband's account when he was at work, which is how we knew there was a problem there. Then I logged on my alt that shares an alt guild bank with one of his toons, and all the good stuff was taken out of that bank and then my husband walked in the door from work and right then looked at my screen and saw his main 80 toon log on. Obviously was not him. The person clearly had spent time farming and my husband was able to log on and boot the guy off by logging on and filed the report. In all, it took about a week for blizzard to correct everything for him, and two weeks to fix my sister's stuff. My husband found a keylogger on his computer and the file it rode in on and was able to get rid of that file and we had to, of course, change all our passwords, but luckily it's my computer that is used for bill paying.

Yesterday, we were trying to make a cross faction transfer by going to Gadgetzan Auction house and he put up some herbs for me to buy, and some gold farmer swiped half them out from under us. We went to booty bay and killed him, but he logged off that toon and logged onto one I didn't know the alt codes for and stole more stuff. Grrrr. So we gave up on transferring those herbs.

I knew that about agility- I can't believe I forgot about it. I guess I was so fixated by that gigantic drop in critical strike that I wasn't thinking straight. Together those changes would be more than +30 agility, plus I found a nice little ring on auction that upped her agility another 8 points. Not a bad overall change. Thanks for the help!

I'm barely playing. I have priest, hunter and rogue at 80 plus 2 more at 70 and 2 60s. Just lost interest. They have made us wait too long for the expansion. I log in once a while and pvp on my hunter, and that's it. I actually cancelled my account because I didn't play for a couple months but I ended up renewing it.

I had barely been playing, but right after Christmas I picked it back up again. I am now leveling both of my druids. I just did Wrathgate with both of them.

I haven't played in a few months due to lack of funds but hope to renew at the end of February/beginning of March. Oh and I apparently haven't updated in a while because Eladra has been an 80 for almost a year now.

no problem, I really don't play enough to be on the list anyway. I'm still playing on Trollbane but like I said I log in once in awhile and do a couple battlegrounds and that is it. I have mixed feelings about Cataclysm, I'm excited to see the changes but sad that we will never be able to experience vanilla WoW again. Jazzed about undead hunters though!

Sorry to hear you got hacked. It's really annoying to see it happening, it happened to a friend of mine while I was online talking to her, and she whispered me from her husband's account and I opened a ticket right away. I was also able to get a hold of an officer on Facebook and that person came and changed the vault access.

My guildmaster got hacked around Christmas. The guild I'm in is now nothing more than an alt guild, but it has 5 tabs and a lot of stuff in it. He is an officer in another big guild and he has a private guild vault. All three guild vaults got wiped out, and he lost all his tanking gear. Apparently it was some issue with something from Curse gaming. I have downloaded mods from there and I know it's usually safe, but I only use 3 mods and I never update them right after a patch. So I play on a Mac, I don't really use mods, I have a battlenet account and I got an authenticator as soon as they came out...like, what, a year and a half now? When I first got my authenticator I told people to get one. Every time someone got hacked, I told people to get one.

The GM gets hacked and now all of a sudden authenticators are a requirement for using the guild vault. I think now that only maybe my two officers can get stuff from the vault and my daughters can't use it, and my toons that aren't officers can't use it. Really kind of aggravating, you know?

And the really irritating thing about it is that he got the consolation prizes for getting hacked--the stuff Blizzard tries to give you instead of giving you your gear back--but he kept arguing through tickets and eventually got all his stuff restored, including duplicates of his gear. Some of this is epic BoEs better than what I have. I asked him for his higher gear level boots because what the heck, get hacked and then get extra money to make up for your trouble? What about those who bought the authenticator the first day, what do we get. Yeah, so I didn't feel the least bit guilty about saying I wanted his boots.

Yeah, Cataclysm. I keep thinking they will one day go and make vanilla WoW servers. There is a Horde guild on Nordrassil called Classic and they want to do classic content. They don't allow DKs or toons over 60. They should not allow blood elves either.

I would like if they actually had pre-BC servers that still had the added dungeons and extra auction houses and such. Of course I'd miss some of the quest helping stuff that is built-in now, but I was thinking it would be cool to be able to do the Onyxia quest again, and have Lady Katana Prestor in Stormwind instead of King Varian Wrynn. I never got to do the Onyxia chain on my Horde toons. I meant to, but there was Kara and all this other stuff to work at. I'd kind of miss the achievements too, if those were gone.

Remember the war effort to open AQ? It would be fun to do that again, I miss when doing the warlock dreadsteed quest was an accomplishment. I was raiding for awhile last year on my priest but I got sick of it. My husband is still raiding though. I think he is OCD though, how he can do the same dungeons over and over every day is beyond me.

I can't even manage to enough will power to get the perky pug, at least I have my own perky pug non combat pet IRL LOL or at least that is what we started calling our pug HAHA.
