Falling asleep on their own... - Page 2

I have been *DREAMING* of the same scenario. I probably sound so cold and heartless but DD is 15 months and I'm so ready to just have her lie in bed, I'll read a book or two, say goodnight, kiss, mommy loves you -- goodnight! Instead it's nurse on the couch, rock standing for 15-30 min, carefully lie her down, sneak away, repeat 2-3 times until I go to bed. ARGH!

I just wish I knew that at some point in her life she will eventually go to sleep on her own. Or will I be rocking a 12 year old? I mean, I had no idea it would be this tough or that it would go on for so long.

I feel like you either CIO and have a good sleeper, or don't CIO and have a crappy sleeper. But there must be something in the middle, right? Does anyone have a good sleeper who didn't use CIO methods??

Yes! There are many many of us, but you don't always hear the positive stories since folks usually come to this forum to look for help when things are going wrong.

my son is totally a good sleeper!! i'm just wondering when it will happen on his own. for now i do have to cuddle him down...but once he's down that's pretty much it!! and he goes to bed super early too (like 7:30) so I get most of the evening to myself. or, at least the 2-3 hours that i stay up after 7:30.

it will get better!!!
