Shipping sourdough

I am in Montana and have a friend in Texas to whom I want to send some sourdough. Is this possible, and how?

Thanks!

I have received live sourdough starter from King Arthur Flour in just a little plastic jar. I would say if you feed it then send it when it is fresh it will be fine in the mail for a few days. You could send it in a small mason jar if you want to avoid plastic, just pad the box really well. The only issue this time of year would be if it would freeze somewhere near your end, not sure if that might kill it or not.
