Blockfeeding: Time or feedings?

I would like to try block feeding to see if it helps with DS and his fusiness/green poop/crying/pulling on and off.

Do you do it by time or the number of feedings? DS is nursing about every 1 1/2 hours during the day. And, how much time or number of feedings?

I did feedings as it was easier for me to remember. I think its best to start small so as not to alter your supply by too much. So two feedings and increase if neccessary.

You might try changing his diaper -- dd seems to start pulling off as soon as she pees. She doesn't like to nurse in a wet diaper.

I started block feeding for the same reasons. I fed him 2 times on one side before switching to the other side.
I was told by my midwife to feed him on one side until it felt completely empty and then switch to the other breast (which for me seemed to be 2 feeds, sometimes 3). It took a few days for my supply to even out as one breast would get really full while I was nursing on the other side. When I first started doing this I would hand express a bit off the full side before latching him on. I noticed an improvement in gassiness and his poops become more curdy as opposed to watery.
