did you avoid certain foods when first giving solids?

Hi Mamas, let me know your experiences. I've read so much conflicting info on foods to avoid when first giving solids. Our dd just turned 7 months and so far has eaten banana, avocado and sweet potato blw style. I would like to start giving her things we are eating. The only allergy history is that my dh was allergic to sugar when he was a baby and we obviously don't intend on giving her sugar anyway.

So what did you avoid if anything? We would like to give her bits of everything we are eating. She certainly wants it all!

For those who gave everything they were eating....what about spices, salt etc..?

For those who avoided foods, why? (besides allergies?)

Thanks!

We're avoiding wheat and other gluten containing grains and holding off on milk products as well as egg whites and soy. I'm allergic to all of those including peanuts, which will also be delayed.
