I'd love suggestions for some really good geography dvds. Ones that touch on culture and history would be a boon. Thanks

We love Michael Palin's travelogues, especially "Sahara" and "Himalaya."

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but you JUST reminded me of something we started a while ago and kind of forgot about:

http://www.familiesoftheworld.com/teachers.html

We get them from the library and really, really love them!!! They are really great for learning about different places. I think you can pick a certain place, watch a dvd, and then really expand from there - books, recipes you make for dinner, etc.

Now I'm going to get back on track with these - we really loved watching them as a family!

These look lovely for younger kids. I haven't see them but have seen snippets here.
Little Travelers Series (They were done by a homeschooling family and the mom has a blog here)

Normally I don't comment much, but yes, thank you for both those links!

As a former babywearer, I love the little doll silk sling on the Traveler Dress up set.

Also some might be interested in the Little Passports monthly kits. We just got Japan yesterday, and it came with some cute stuff.

Also a fun little China kit, contact this email address, yangge_china@sina.com
You'll get a kit full of China items for $13, takes 20 days to receive.

Seconding this, also his Pole to Pole series, which is awesome! The kids watched parts of it with me and we pulled out their globe to put sticky dots on the places he went as we watched.
