Can I use delicate cycle for my wool soakers?

100% wool of course. Which of course comes with the standard warning: hand wash/flat dry.

I'm knitting them up like mad now that I have the hang of the pattern-don't really mind washing them by hand, but just wondering if it will totally kill them if I put them in a short delicate cycle in the wash machine? Anyone know?

It'll probably start felting them. Do you have the option of turning off the spin? My machine has a wool cycle with zero spin and very minimal agitation. I haven't dared it with my soakers, though.

Yes it spins. I suppose that's out then.

Dual reasons for asking. 1. I have some gaps that my circular needles left (aka ladders) and with a bunch of other advice on knittinghelp.com I was told a very gentle machine wash will almost always hide the gaps. I think I'm kind of obsessing about them 2. It would be nice to be able to run them all thru once in a while...(although I'm not sure where that brilliant idea comes from either?)

BUT-it's totally not worth it if they're going get ruined-I don't have the guts to try it either!!!

machine washing interlock wool = ok on gentle or hand wash cycles

machine washing machine knit (babyology) = sometimes ok on handwash cycle

machine washing hand knit = big no no (have seen many ruined felted soakers & longies over on diaperswappers)

okay. Enough said. I'm getting some Eucalan and following instructions. Thank you and PP for saving me some heart ache
