So I have been bleeding/spotting since about 6 weeks along.. I have been going in every 10 days for an US because I had 2 late first trmester losses last yr and keep thinking that I am Miscarrying
Anyways my Dr at 8 weeks said the baby looked great and told me to stay off my feet and see if the bleeding would stop. well of course it stopped and now it only happens if im walking or straining to go to the bathroom.
I am now 14+ weeks and wondering if this is normal? My Dr said he was suprised at how much I am bleeding considering the placenta is just barely touching my cervix ( not covering it).. anyone share a simliar experience with me?? Also he seems so confident that it should resolve itself by 17 weeks.. Im not concerned right now about c-section or natural since I just want a baby a healthy one in the end of these 9 months but rather looking for hope that this baby will be ok.....

My friend with partial placenta previa had on and off bleeding until 20 weeks.

I have "a low lying placenta" but nobody called it previa. I had bleeding at 16 weeks that was quite heavy and it freaked me right out. I am fine now and so is the baby.

I know you are worried... You will have a scan again around 20 weeks so they can see the placenta better there.

COULD be a cyst... SHC I think people call it on here... that is a big cause of bleeding.

Many women bleed throughout pregnancy and have healthy babies.

I did with DD and she is doing well

Around 16ish weeks I had bleeding and they discovered a complete previa and a velementous cord insertion (the cord was attached through a web to the placenta, instead of a clean cord insertion). They ruled out vasia previa around 20 weeks (thankfully) and everything eventually moved out of the way. I was on pelvic rest/no air travel/no strenuous excercise for the remainder of the pregnancy and had several ultrasounds (2 with a perinatal specialist). Slowly the placenta moved as my uterus grew (common). My situation was a little more intense than marginal previa, but in the end I had a vaginal birth. Unfortunately I had a huge bleeding spell at 38 weeks (thought my water broke) and had to be induced b/c of the potential risks (cord separation due to the insertion). My OB is amazing and I know at least one of the other docs in her practice wanted me to have a ceserean birth.

So, there is a huge chance that your placenta will move. Maybe at 14 weeks they can't see everything that could be going on? I had to go to a perinatal and 3D ultrasound to fully see the velementous insertion. I would imagine you will have more ultrasounds, too.

bleeding in pregnancy is terrifying, I know. It sounds like in your case you might have to stay off your feet and be more monitored.

My Dr. said about 25% of women bleed in pregnancy and in most cases, it is normal. I can totally understand your fears though. You have my prayers.
