Small trampoline

Do any of you have a small regular exercise tranmpoline for your toddler, or do you think it's not really safe and they should only use the toddler ones with the bar to hold onto? We want to get dd (2.5 yrs) a trampoline for her room, but the store is out of the toddler ones with a bar, so are considering the regular one but I'm not sure if it's safe.

we have one and my dd, 23 months, loves it. we've had no problems with safety or dangers or anything. in fact, she likes to pull a little chair close to it and jump onto it from the chair.

We brought ours (regular one) out for DS when he was 19 months. He does jump on it, but doesn't get to crazy with it (yet?....)
He like to use it as a table for his toys, roll on it, climb up and down, hide things under it....lot's of non-worrying activities which is nice

We did have a 3 year old over the other day who was getting some good height with the jumps, and was a little wild on it - so you may have to judge safety with how your child's personality is?

It's my 4y/o DD's favorite! She jumps on the trampoline every day, several times a day. She's already worn one out completely (including two repairs by DH) and just received her 2nd one as a gift. When she really energetic, I make a game out of it: "Let's see if you can jump 50 times!" Then I stand by and count out loud. Sometimes she'll jump over 100 times. No injuries at all. It's a great play activity!!

I would get an adult exercise trampoline if you could. Most child one's use bungy cords and there have been safty recalls on them because of the cords wearing out. They do make exercise trampolines with a stabalizer bar like the children's trampoline. Not sure if they adjust low enough but they might.

My kids use an adult version and my criteria was - 6 legs so it wouldn't tip and cover over the springs.

we got a regular adult one from the exercise department at the store. both kids DS(6) and DD(2.5) love it and don't get to crazy on it. DD used a chair for the first week or two to stabilizer herself but now she can do it on her own.

Were your dc able to jump before you introduced the tramp? Dd finally caught a little air on our bed last night, but neither is able to jump on their own yet.

Thanks so much everyone! We got one today and it's great, she loves it, and it doesn't seem too dangerous!

We got the kids a 12ft trampoline for Christmas. It has cover mats over the springs and a safety net enclosure. Much safer than the small trampolines IMO and it has a lot more bounce too.

esaesa - My youngest dd had her second birthday early December and she could not jump at all when we put up the trampoline on Christmas day. Her one foot would occasionally lift off the trampoline, but most of the time she was dependent on us bouncing her in one place. Now she is jumping all over the trampoline with both feet in the air.
