9.5 mo suddenly doesn't want solids...is this normal?

My 9.5 month old, who has been eating solids consistently since 7 months or so, suddenly will not eat any solids. He still nurses, but not anymore than he normally would when also eating solids. So it feels like he's not getting "enough" food, although I know he won't starve himself. I know babies don't nutritionally need solids until after a year, and a lot of babies do fine with no solids until older than he is. But he was eating a TON of solids! We do BLW, so he mainly feeds himself (although I do spoon feed soups and the occasional puree if it's convenient), and he was eating 3-4 meals a day (decent sized meals, not just a few bites). But now he doesn't want anything.

His sleep has also been messed up the past few days. Usually he goes down at night and STTN for 12 straight hours with 1-2 nursings, and then takes two solid naps for 1-2 hours. The past 2 nights he's woken a few times during the night to the point I have to get out of bed and rock him to get him back to sleep. And his naps have been terrible as well.

Could he be sick? The only thing I can think is that he is teething (he doesn't have any teeth yet), but he's not drooling, not really acting any different (except cranky when he's tired), no changes in poop or any other teething signs. Is this normal teething behavior? Reassure me mommas!

Yeah, sounds like teething.

DD normally hates mush food but will eat more yogurt and purees during teething. She usually hates cold food right out of fridge but during teething cold yogurt works wonders! I would just give what your baby wants in terms of solids if it's purees, soups, or nothing. I won't worry about it unless it lasts longer than 7-10(?) days. My DD usually complains for 3-4 days, though.

Also DD falls asleep less well and wakes up during the night more frequently. I nurse her to sleep (I nurse, she relaxes, then I put her in the crib awake, then she falls asleep on her own), but during teething, it takes like 3x longer nursing to get her relaxed, otherwise she will weep this really sad whimpering cry. Poor thing. I heard nursing/sucking helps with teething pains plus milk makes up for missing solids. So, I would nurse on demand day and night. Hopefully it won't be too many more days/nights!

I give her some motrin right before bedtime and this works for us to STTN during teething. It takes me 1-2 nights of waking up to realize something is going on, then 2-3 nights of motrin.
