I just found out I had 4 cavities. Here is a prior post from right after my appt
I went again yesterday for the cleaning part of my visit and asked the hygienist to show me where the cavities are and how bad they were. I told her I wanted to try and heal them on my own. She referred me to the doctor who acted like a teenager who wasn't getting her way, she was flabbergasted that I suggested letting the cavities go for a couple months while I try to heal them, saying:
"they have already gotten past the enamel there is no hope now to heal them."
And to try and scare me into having my wisdom teeth out she said, "you have a cavity in one of them, it has to come out." [Cackling laughter] "But be my guest if you want to let it go and decay, you'll be back here getting it out after you are in so much pain from the decay." (she never told me one of my wisdom teeth had a cavity)
"Your cavities are so bad that your teeth are decaying under the sealant they put on."
My first visit, she wouldn't even tell me what kind of fillings they use, she said "the same as all the civilian dentists."
I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach after I left. It's no wonder I hate going to the dentist. She is of the mentality, 'do as I say or else...'
Please, what I am hoping for in this post is encouragement that I am doing the right things to try and heal my teeth. I would love to hear positive stories of people who have seen progress from making changes to their diet. This really gives me incentive to cut out sugar and cut out grains.
Thanks

| I went to the dentist to find that I had 4 cavities . First time ever. I'm going to make a guess and say that using baking soda to brush my teeth for the past few years was not a good idea. Added to that I had a couple of kids in the past few years. Anyway, I am in the military and they want to fill them very soon. I hope to put them off a few months while I try and heal them. Help me plan to get maximum results... Here's what I already do (increasing the frequency): eat/cook with bone broth eating liver taking vit A, D, K and omega 3 (I have a hard time with CLO) eat grassfed butter and ghee trying to brush after every meal probotics (I'm about to order kefir grains and a kombucha scobie) need to cut down on sugar |
