For those of us with loooong cycles - Page 3

Bump! This thread will get buried with so little action... just waiting, waiting, waiting! Good news here... I'm on CD4, my last cycle was 38 days!! THIRTY EIGHT! That is the shortest cycle yet.

When I had my hormones tested a few weeks ago, they all came back 'normal', but one of my testosterones (don't remember which one, serum or free) was at the high end. So I started drinking spearmint tea everyday to bring it down. Perhaps it worked! Have started drinking it again everyday early in my cycle to hopefully O early. Will start OPKs around CD15.

Good luck ladies! There is hope!

thanks for the bump! You're right, this will get buried because we are all just waiting & waititng...

I'm on CD 55 today and FF just gave me my crosshairs. Although I don't believe them because my temps are so erratic.

Thinking I might start taking Maca to see if it'll help

It looks like you O'd! Congrats!!

Oooh, tell me more about spearmint tea! I'm off to google...

CD7 here, not much happening. I did start temping for this cycle to discover that my temps are really low for me! Hope that's some sort of good sign that this cycle will be "different" and I might O a little earlier (rather than my pattern, which seems to be about 4 days later each cycle). Last cycle was cd25.

Hello ladies!

Mind if I join in? I am SO thankful to have found this thread! I've had long and irregular cycles all my life so it's nothing new but incredibly frustrating. It took 18 months to conceive our oldest child (a sweet 4.5 year old boy) and I was still nursing him when we got pregnant with our daughter (a beautiful little girl who would've been 3 this coming April but she was born still). I only had two periods before getting pregnant with her, but they were both long (I got a bfp on CD 65 and the first cycle was 90 days). After our daughter's death, I was put on bcp for the first time in my life to make sure we waited to conceive and also in hopes of regulating my cycle for just a few chances, which it did and we were able to conceive our son who will be 2 in April.

We are ready to try again but are waiting until I run a marathon on our daughter's birthday in April in her honor. I want SO badly to regulate my cycles before then so we stand a chance at conceiving quickly but it doesn't seem like the dr is going to be any help.

I am charting now, trying to get a handle on things and not wasting pg tests (but at least that was exciting!) but it's so infuriating to temp every morning and just wait, wait, wait.

I'm so happy to see that I'm not alone in my long cycles but I wouldn't wish this on any mama!

ETA: I'm currently on CD 44 with no Ovulation in sight at all right now

Wow, I just googled it and it seems it was found not only to decrease testosterone, but also increase LH and FSH.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. But that's great about the marathon! Perhaps another doctor might be a better help with getting things moving after April?

Hey long cycle mamas. I'm on CD 45..FF thinks I finally ovulated on CD 41 but I am not sure I believe it. My temps have been really erratic. Also I am just feeling like this is one long anovulatory cycle for me.

Feeling sad though, because if by some chance I DID ovulate on CD 41..then DH and I missed it because our toddler has not been sleeping well and we have not done any babydancing lately. : (

I guess I'm just down, because if I did O, we missed it, and if I didn't, and i'm not O'ing, this is the 2nd cycle of non-O'ing in a row for me.

On a positive note, I've been taking Maca and it definitely has increased my energy ALOT. I just hope it starts helping me O!

Thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome theirmommy, sorry to hear about your daughter the marathon sounds like a good thing

lilmom, I hope the Maca balances things for you soon!

AFM, I'm on CD 59 with neither O or AF in sight this does get rather frustrating. I'm researching Maca and plan to start it as soon as I decide which form and/or brand I want to get. I've heard so many great things about it

Thanks for the welcome, girls!

Fertility Friend gave me an ovulation date of CD 44 but I don't believe it. I had what would've been a great thermal spike but everyday since has been down low again so they'll probably pull the crosshairs soon. What a tease!

I hope the maca works for you! You never know. I hope you O soon and then get your BD timing right...

I think this group must be the most frustrating! Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Urg, I hate that. When do you normally O? Maybe that's why it's so quick with the crosshairs.

AFM - I am just chillin' on cd11. Imagine if I had normal cycles and would be O'ing cd14! I do have a fantasy though that I will O normally this cycle...like perhaps all my issues are finally going to be regulated. Not sure why, but I have hope!
Maurine - it's good to have hope! We all gotta have hope!

TxMom2 - thanks and you definitely should try the maca. if nothing else you will probably feel better. FWIW I got Maca Magic brand. So we'll see what happens. I got the organic capsules. And I'm in TX too by the way..

TheirmommyI too am sorry for your loss..and keeping up the hope for you too. It IS so hard to be in this frustrating group but we all just have to keep the faith.

Good luck mamas and thx for the encouragement.

That is my dream. CD14! Although, it is nice have 20-30 days to not worry about TTC and then get hardcore about it later.

That works. INTERESTING! I'm hoping it works again. CD1-3 I like the tea; by now I'm ready to puke when I drink it. Ugh. Dreading it tonight...

I don't know how to link my chart??
If you are charting on FF, click on 'sharing' on the left and then 'home page set up'. Then your link is provided on that page. Something like... http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/25d85e

Also, FF doesn't normally show when you BD, that's a setting some choose to turn on or off. That's on 'home page set up', too. There are a lot of options to play with there.

ALSO... some people (like me!) set their chart as their Mothering homepage since we can't link in signatures anymore. Easier to find without digging for links anymore.

Here's my chart! I generally have a 14 day luteal phase but my cycles vary so much ovulation could be CD 45-70. The earliest I've ever ovulated (with the exception of the one straight off the pill after our stillbirth) was CD 30 but that's pretty rare.
Finally figured out how to post a link to my chart.
It's looking crazy right now. I have dashed crosshairs. I don't know if I O'd or not. I didn't feel like I did.

Based on this month's chart I am wondering if I have PCOS. (this is my first chart with temps) Last month I charted only using CM, and I only had 2 days of EWCM, but..way way too many days between fertile CM and my period for it to have been ovulatory.

So what I am thinking is that this could be another anov. cycle.

Thoughts anybody?

I just ordered some Maca, so we'll see what it does. I hope this cycle hurries up and ends because it's CD67 and it's looking annovulatory for me

BTW, lilmom, I think your cycle in your link looks annov. as well
post #60 of 158
I'm happy to report I did finally ovulate and my cycle was 16 days shorter than the last one! (only 54 days this time lol) My LP was on the short side (10 days) but this is only my third period since having my baby and I'm still nursing (though it looks like he's trying to wean). I'm going to use the CBEFM this cycle (starting it on CD 25/30 or so) to see if it matches up with my chart. So now, if I have a long cycle, we're officially ttc or if a have a shorter one, we'll have to wait one more (until after my race).
