Okay, in the last two weeks I've put on almost 5 pounds. I've not been eating the conventional pies, candies, and breads. I've done the best I could while staying with family in choosing the best possible things to eat out of what was available. I wasn't able to keep up my yoga practice over that time. I'm back at it again now though. I have also noticed that I am craving warm drinks and I don't want water. I'm still drinking it, but not as much as I was. I'm craving things like hot chocolate, which I will make every now and then. Also, OJ which I added to my breakfast while I was having a cold - 1 glass. I'm craving butter like crazy and could probably eat a stick for lunch if I felt that was appropriate. I have noticed that I am craving more carbs as well, and am liking things a little bit sweeter than I would have before - like my oats and tea. I'm adding more raisins to my trail mix than usual, and could eat a whole half or so of a large pineapple with my cottage cheese for lunch. I might be overeating just a bit too.
Along with this I'm noticing muscle fatigue and charlie horses like I had had sometime ago. I feel chilled to the core too. It is very cold here, but I've never felt cold like this before. I've always been kind of hot blooded.
So, is there some natural weight gain in the winter, if so how much? Today, so far all I have had is one piece of sprouted raisin toast with butter and cream cheese (usually I have two) 2 eggs, and two slices of bacon, 1 glass OJ, 1 cup Yogi Tea with honey and whole milk, a yogurt smoothie with apple and honey, and about 1 cup or so of trail mix with nuts and raisins.
Should I try to change my diet, or just be more aware when I am full? I want to try to stay at 145 and I am now almost 150. Given my struggles with weight in the past, I'm trying not to freak out too much. I know it is not my food doing this to me, but something else.
Thanks.
