Need washing advice for Sposoeasy AIO's

I am using only cotton Sposoeasy AIO's at the moment. Baby is 7 weeks old. We are now getting that ammonia smell as soon as he pees. Diapers are coming out with lots of EBF poo stains.

Here's what we do so far. We have a non-HE top loader.
Wash every 2-3 days. Washer less than half full, water level med high or high.
Dry pail until wash.
Wash first on cold/cold with 1 tbsp Charlies Soap.
Wash next on hot/cold with 1 tbsp Charlies soap.

Advice?

Someone said to use oxyclean in the hot wash cycle and then to add vinegar to the rinse cycle after the hot wash. Do you agree?

Any other suggestions? I do not want to use bleach and want to use products that are hypoallergenic. Baby has very sensitive skin.

Help! TIA!!

You could try RLR Laundry Treatment (http://www.momsmilkboutique.com/RLR.html). I get it at Kroger grocery store. You only need to use it once a month, but it really gets out the EBF stains. I have read other posts saying it removes the ammonia stink, but I've never had that problem, so don't know for sure.

Two ideas...
Use Tide or use more Charlies. It sounds like you aren't using enough soap to get your dipes clean.....
We use 1/4 the amount of Tide and have never had a problem with stink..... We do a cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse. Always have clean dipes, no build up, etc. Sometimes I squirt bac-out in the first cold rinse, but not always.
Good luck!

Add 1/2 cup white vinegar to every cold prewash. If the problem is ammonia, the vinegar has to go in the cold prewash.

Rinse all morning diapers in fresh water.

To rehabilitate them now, I would advise 1 Tablespoon bleach in the hot wash. It will be totally rinsed with another hot wash after that so it won't irritate baby. If you don't want to do that, you can try soaking them for a bit in the washer with 1 cup vinegar.

Ok, have done the vinegar in the cold rinse a couple of times and that seems to help with the ammonia smell.

Just got some oxyclean baby the other day and put 2.5 scoops in with the hot wash. Dipes are no worse, but EBF stains are still there from before. Is there anything that will get the stains out besides sun? (not much sun around here nowadays!)

If they've been run through the dryer, I don't know that anything other than sun is going to do it.
