unassisted prenatal care

I have 3 children and pregnant with number 4 does anyone have advice for unassisted prenatal care? My last pregnancy they told me my son had ds which couldnt have been further from the truth so I lost my trust and respect for modern prenatal care and I am wanting to do it all on my own with the help of my sister an RN..

Basically, once a month weigh yourself, have your sister check your blood pressure, and fundal height with a centimeter tape, and you can get urinalysis sticks thru several midwifery online stores. In His Hands is one company, there are others. Check the stickies at the beginning of the UC thread to see if there's anything else that might help. And don't be freaked if the baby is still breech at 38 weeks. Sometimes they don't turn until shortly before labor begins...enjoy your pregnancy!

and got massage each week (regular and cranio-sacral therapy).

we are UC'ing and doing self prenatal care.. we have had many issues with family not accepting that i didnt want to see a dr, we eventually just gave in and told them we were seeing a midwife about a hr away from us.. we of course are not, but it stopped them from freaking out and calling every single family member and friend in healthcare into it and trying to scare us. we also tell anyone who asks the exact same thing.. UC is not very welcomed around here- its not the norm, and man is this german catholic town stuck on the norm

i check my own BP, fundal height, weight, and urine for protiens and sugars. we have a doppler we bought shortly before our last M/C, in the beginning we checked the hb with that, now that we are in the last trimester, we just check it with a stethoscope.
i have received no medical care during this pregnancy. this is our first child.
the only issues i have had are- bleeding and cramping in the first trimester.. i remedied this by putting myself on progesterone cream.. seeing as how i have lost two pregnancies in the past, with drs care(or lack of it seems) this is what i felt was right... and then somwhere around 24 weeks my blood pressure started skyrocketing.. i quit work.. its normal now. when it gets high, im doing to much, and it tells me! i get a slight headache at the base of my skull, that eventually wraps around, and then i start feeling overwhelmed, and swell... so i sit down, put my feet up and stay there for a a while.. drink a lot of water.. it goes back down the only issues we have were solved by simply listening to mybody.. it told me what it needed when i listened hard enough.. we are by our count 33 weeks, and measuring 39... so we may be wrong on our dates, but baby could come any day now! and we would be okay with that... we trust that God will send us our Squish when he or she is ready as a precaution tho, we have a plan with the local hospital (i live in a small town, of about 1200 people) that if we feel we are in distress, we call them, head to the er, and by the time they have me prepped, careflight will be there to take us to the nearest hospital with a decent NICU. we also got careflight insurance($50 dollars a year for the whole family, and it covers us all)..

we ordered herbs and a pool for the labor, and my list is now complete! we are just waiting on squish to get here! good luck and many blessings on your UC.
