How do you treat a bad diaper rash? - Page 2

My DS recently had a bad diaper rash and here is what we did--

oatmeal baths
diaper free time (LOTS of this)
Aveeno Diaper Rash Cream

Lots of great advice from the PP's here.. I think I am going to bookmark this thread for future reference!

There is some great advice here and I would def try it, however we battled yeast for 13 mths and have been yeast free for 2 mths now. I had tried everything and this is what finally killed it:

For resistant yeasty rashes:

Change to sposies for a week
Use canesten at every diaper change. No need for anything else, Cortizone if very red but only if urgent/really needed
Chlorine Bleach diaps. And I mean soak in your washer in HOT water with a couple of cups. It's nasty, but nothing else killed it (TTO, GSE etc).
Continue use of Canesten for 2-3 weeks after it looks clear!!! This is the most important point. Gradually reduce down to only using it at night

Good luck on getting rid of the horrible yeasties!
