what are you eating? - Page 3

She preserved herself with it? LOL

My gramma is about the same age (not as good health though) and is teaching me the wonder that is vinegar. You can do SO MUCH with that stuff and its so much safer than some chemicals today!

I CRAVE vinegar in the first tri. In fact, sometimes I drink apple cider vinegar straight from the bottle. I know, gross. My mouth is watering thinking about it. I also ate pickles with my first DD like they were going out of style. They don't sound good now, though.

I had a beef dish in the crockpot all day, and it smelled so good cooking. Then about an hour before dinner, I was so grossed out by it. I told DH that, and he said, "Oh, it's a Mexican night, isn't it?" LOL--when nothing else sounds good, chips, salsa and guacamole will do the trick.

lol thats what I had last night after I spent almost an hour trying to make the kids a pizza (pregnancy brain - put the pizza in and forgot to start the oven!)

I polished off most of a bag of tortilla chips and salsa today and gave into the ice cream craving (well I did frozen custard). I did stick a big clove of garlic up my hooha tonight, though, to help stave off the yeast from giving into the frozen custard.

That's what we tell her, she pickled herself.

I've never been in to it, but I do eat a lot of vinegar anyways. Balsamic vinegar on tomatoes and sometimes strawberries. Lots of vinegar in salads... etc.

Despite knowing that it's awful to have real morning sickness, there is a little part of me that would like just a little more nauseousness to both reassure me that everything is OK and help me not gain 20lbs!! I'm trying very hard to snack lightly, and eat smaller meals, but I've been eating TONS at dinner because I'm not bringing enough snacks to work... My meals have been:

7:30am Cereal for Breakfast
9:30am Settled in at work, yogurt or fruit
11:00am- the yogurt or fruit I didn't eat earlier
noon- sandwich and fruit or cut veg, or leftovers
2pm- fruit or something, if I have manged to bring enough and not eat it all by now!!
6:30pm- dinner, a ton of food because by now, I am absolutely STARVING.
10pm- up from napping while putting kids down, snack, leftovers, hummus, cereal, etc. and back to bed.

I've been craving fruit and veggies, lots of veggies, mushrooms, bell peppers, salads, yumm! I hope this keeps up, much better than the McD's cheeseburger and milkyways craving of DD's pregnancy

I had so many of those things when I was pregnant with my boys! I vividly remember waking up one morning, dreaming of this kind of sweet-salty baked beans with ground beef and bacon. It just sounded SO good. I ran out to the store to get all the ingredients, spent the afternoon slooooow baking it. By the time we sat down to eat it, I couldn't even get a bite down. It was disgusting.

And I still can't eat it. Wonder what it'll be this time...

I always crave mexican food when I am pregnant. Salsa, guacamole, beans, burritos, enciladas. I think we may have to have mexican night here tonight, now that I have been thinking about it. I also crave pop, like ginger ale or 7up or something like those, not too sweet but really cold and fizzy.

I too feel nauseous if I dont eat enough so I find myself thinking about food all day.

I so just wish I could eat healthier. We are typically a very healthy eating family here with everything made form scratch due to allergies. I thought I would do so well with this pregnancy since it was already the norm. It only lasted a very minimal amount of time. The other night I sent dh out to get me poutine (not sure if this is strictly a Canadian food still....fries cheese curd and gravy mmmm) and a chocolate milkshake. I forced broccoli in in an attempt to create some balance. Another night it was for a burrito, and many baked goods have been requested as well.
Dh is home all week and usually does/ helps with dinner those nights so last night it was impossible for me to cook dinner because I felt so crummy. I fed older ds leftover chicken and forced myself to cut up veggies for him. younger ds has only 5 safe foods due to his disease so his eating is pretty basic. Poor dh got up after napping to go in for night shift and I had to tell him there was nothing for dinner. Well except for the cereal I was eating.
I'm going to go make a fruit salad now and cut up veggies so that there are healthy snacks ready (since I'm feeling goot from my McD's right now....normally a no no here). I think I should get some dinner started to so we have a meal tonight before the nausea sets in.
Hopefully soon I'll get back to our usual eating.

Apparently this baby wants to be Korean, because everything tastes better with gochujang (spicy pepper paste). EVERYTHING.

Today everything looks good, though. I went to our local farmer's winter market and oooooooh was everything tasty. Fresh cheeses, fresh breads, mushrooms, crisp apples, baked goods, salad dressings.... I wanted to buy EVERYTHING!

Then I went to the co-op and bought even more...satsumas, grapefruit, walnuts, greens, cilantro, lemongrass (for Thai curry soup), yogurt, granola, canned tomatoes, green beans, brussels sprouts (never had them before, but they looked soooo tasty)....

I am out of control. Thankfully I'm not eating it all, just excited about eating it all. :log

The only thing I have NO interest in is sweets. Spicy, yes. A random bowl of cereal or granola, yes. Chocolate? bleck. If you knew me at all you'd laugh. That is NOT normal.

....and really? Drinking pickle juice? THAT is write-it-down behavior...your future kid is going to laugh at that one!

I think my egg craving is gone for now. Today was the first morning that I didn't want an egg lol.

Has anyone thought of something to make, then by the time they've made it decide that it doesn't sound good anymore? I was hungry for lunch, but once I made it I didn't want to eat it anymore.

This is me.

Having some mild sweet/salty cravings, but nothing too weird or bad yet.

I didn't have any morning sickness with my first, hopefully that will be the case this time around.

I'm eating a lot of hummus right now.

We were at Costco a few days ago...and they had samples. And the sample lady was toasting the pita bread which made it sooooo good. So, of course, I bought the giant tub o' Hummus. It's almost gone. I've been snacking on it ever since (and toasting my pita too).

Yum.

Last night we had dinner at my inlaws, but on the way home we drove by a Chipotle and I insisted that DH stop and get me a burrito to eat in the morning, even though we'd just had dinner.

So,

Breakfast: 1/2 a chicken burrito, NO rice, fajita veggies, hot and corn salsa, and guacamole. And coffee.

Lunch: kind of picking at a few things at work--a few bites of a sausage and egg bagel sandwich...and when I got home I ate a salad with cashews and dressing.

Dinner I hope will be the other half of my burrito!

I'm trying to work towards getting in 100g of protein in each day. I think this will get me to 75g.... We'll see.

Omg, spicy spicy spicy - YUM! Like, this baby is going to come out wanting only spicy milk... I have a huge craving for this Chinese restaurant that we go to that has hot oil that is insanely good now...

Oh, and lots of saltines. I seriously feel on the verge of puking all day. It sucks. And of course, I don't actually puke unless I have food poisioning or something (I think I would feel better if I did...) so saltines it is.

I'm scared...I'm craving protein like crazy AGAIN!

With DD I almost went insane for protein. No kidding to the tune of eat a bag or two of spinach a day! It was so weird.

And I got an 11lber. >.<

DH and I have talked about this b/c everyone around us and the 'experts' are saying I just need to measure my protein and 'restrict' my diet. But he thinks if I crave protein then that is the baby needing protein.

I don't know...we shall see...and really I need to find better sources b/c Spinach is pretty contaminated.
