I miss my baby when she's in her crib?!

Hi
My 11 month old has always started the night in her crib, but around 10pm moves in with us and nurses all night. While we LOVE her sleeping in our bed I have had a rough road nursing and after 11 months I am over the all night nursing. We have been reading Dr. Jay Gordons night weaning method and the last couple of nights have been working on it. The thing is she is actually sleeping well in her crib (nursing 2 times a night). While thats great and a lot of mom's dream about that, I really miss her. I am trying not to be selfish and keep her with me (not to mention I could more than 2 hours of sleep in a row!), but I wake up every hour or two missing her. Anyone relate? She is a high needs baby and we spend every second together the rest of the day, how do I train myself to sleep better?!

Thanks!

Oh that is difficult when all you'd like is to snuggle your little baby

I'd give yourself a mantra to say to yourself - "she's asleep and growing, she'll call when she needs me" or something like that to remind yourself simply why you are allowing her to sleep as long as she can. If she's happy in her crib, great, sometimes it is hard for those of us who are used to cuddling all night long to remember that some children have different personalities and want to sleep alone.

Yeah that's hard. I like the pp's idea of a mantra , and she may not always sleep so well!! So try I guess, even with my older boys if my dh is not sleeping with them I find myself waking to hear them!!
