Yay! I am glad this is starting again!

This season is supposed to be the biggest season ever so I guess they will top last season.

I watched it, but nothing really stood out for me. No one is clicking with me yet. I think I've watched too many of them.

I'm rooting for green! Go Puerto Rican mama and daughter!

I was initially rooting for Sunshine and O'Neal, and then very disapointed when they got sent home immediately. Hope they beat blue in a month and get to spend more time on the ranch.

My other favorites are the Tongan cousins. I was so inspired by Seyone and Phillipe in season 7, that its great to see another couple just like them.

Everybody was so inspiring, and the work they did the first week was truly amazing. Best of luck to everybody!

I have mixed feelings about making the contestants do a public weigh-in in front of their neighbors, friends, family, etc. I understand they need something radical to shake them out of their bad habits but the public weigh in seemed unnecessarily shameful. But then again they are disrobing in front of America so why not in front of people they actually know?

I don't have a particularly favorite duo yet although I find the Italian mom/son from Chicago endearing. He was so cute after his huge loss after the first weigh in "Can you see my abs?" and the little gyration he did.

Spoiler

I think Sunshine and her father make it back to the Ranch. I saw them in a quick preview of upcoming highlights from the season.

I just wished there were two or three weeks on the ranch before the first elimination!

I think the red team will be big on game play. Really I just like the show because it is so amazing watching these people do something for themselves and work on becoming the person they want to be.

i have mixed feelings about this show.
this is only the second season that i've watched; i really like hearing people's stories and seeing them overcome struggles to change their situation. however the weight loss aspect is unrealistic for everyday living. for the person at home who is trying to start their own journey and are unable to lose 15-30 pounds in the first week, it's really discouraging.

as far as this season goes, no one has really stood out to me yet although i didn't really get to hear when they were sharing their stories because dd1 was being loud . off to visit sidereel to see what i missed!

I don't think it's shameful. It is something that would have been in the contract they signed. If they didn't agree with it then they wouldn't be on the show.

After being so-so on this season last week, I thought this week's show was really good. Very educational, very inspiring from the team's visits and challenges from Dr. H. to the part where the white team had their issues and revealed their individual and "couple" dynamics and what was standing in their way of leading healthy lives. They really added some good demonstrations - having a healthy person add the weight, eat the food, see the cost - all really good for people watching to see.

Nobody is really clicking with me. I find myself watching about half and fast forwarding through the rest. I hope they find new ways to keep it interesting.

I did enjoy the demonstrations. It made it more "real" than just seeing a body scan.

I thought Bob overdid the "oh my goodness, how can you possibly carry all this weight around?" routine. I get it. Michael is the biggest contestant they've had so far. They've only mentioned that about oh ten million times.
And Jillian really overacted her disgust of eating something from Taco Bell. I'm not a big fan of cold fast food but she didn't need to spit it out like she did.

I did enjoy seeing the purple mom's results after she went home. She looked great!

anyone watch last night? i don't know if it's just 'cause i was in a bad mood or what, but i found myself just getting annoyed by all the drama and creating of drama and product placements. whatever.
did anyone catch at the weigh-in when allison was congratulating daris? all of a sudden she was wearing a green dress and had her hair done up while the whole rest of the weigh-in she had a black dress with her hair down! interesting. but i'm not really sure on the whole sequence of how the show is put together/edited.

The show got all cut up here due to the Massachusetts special election news. I missed 80% of the weigh in and voting which are the parts I really like watching! I didn't even see who got sent home. Someone please fill me in!

I'll have to notice that when I watch that again. I knew that they don't do that shot all at once, which is weird, but I never noticed a switch in looks.

The white team fell below and the mom was sent home. I'll be interested to see how Michael copes without his mom. I have a feeling there is some sort of co-dependecy thing going on there. And the red team wife is the crazy, team-playing one this season, I guess. The green team aspect was interesting, but uncomfortable. I hope they find their way because she does (they both) seem to be stuffing lots of emotions down.

Last night was good. I was happy with who went home and it will be interesting to see how her son does without her. The red team and the green team both have a lot of issues to deal with. Last week when red had immunity the wife basically admitted she drank water or did something to gain a pound. And now this week? I think what really ticked Bob and Jill off was when she was like don't you think I'm upset that I haven't lost anything and I do what you tell me? Making it sound like it was their fault. Like Bob said if you did it just admit it. Her husband didn't look too happy either so it will be interesting to see how next week goes. I love cooking demos and wowza I never would have guessed that many calories were in some of the dishes. That is insane!

Its also fun to read on People magazine site they have Tara blog about the show and give extra feedback. She said there is ALOT of downtime that you never see. And that most of the people are walking/ hiking, swimming and only in the gym when the trainers are there. She said a lot of the game strategies are done on the trails and places where cameras just can't go.

Not only during that part but I was highly bothered (I get that way when there are glaring mistakes in tv and movies haha) by the bus at the park. Clearly there was NO words on the bus, then there is a black stripe on the bus where there should be words, and then the third time we see the bus there IS WORDS!! GAH! Made me NUTS!! I so didn't catch the dress thing but I fast forward during so much that I lose bits

Darn, I've already deleted it from my DVR. I never watch it closely anyway. I usually have it on for background noise while I'm using the computer, and I just look up for key moments. I FF through a lot of the filler like the last-chance workout stuff and the yammering on between weigh-ins. I like to see the results, but all the fluff and filler and product placement and attempts at emotional manipulation in the meantime just turn me off.

And I think the red team totally threw the weigh in again last night. Who can blame them? But at least admit it and don't pull this "don't question my integrity!! Boo hoo!!" stuff. Give me a freakin' break. Her little sob story about "This in't working, I just wanna go sit on my butt and have a cheeseburger" was SO insincere it was embarrassing to watch.

Maybe I'm all alone, but it pisses me off that the red team is throwing weigh-ins. She could have lost 10-15 pounds by now and now what? Game play is fine, but in the beginning, I would be losing all the weight I could while I still could.

Someone else gets yelled at next week and I wonder who it is. If it's red team, that would be ridiculous.

Do you have a link to Tara's blog? I'd be interested in seeing that.
