Synthetic vitamins added to clo???

I've read here that all but the fermented cod liver oil has added synthetic vitamins. I was wondering how people know this?

I was looking at the bottles of clo at the hfs yesterday and none of them had added vitamins listed in the ingredients. The nutrition label said that the vitamin a in it comes right from the cod liver oil. Is it not required that the say whether or not vitamins have been added?

There's a great big CLO thread around here - I think "synthetic" is in the title. That should explain things a bit.

The destruction of natural vitamins happens when the CLO is first processed, before the distributors even have it in their possession. So it's impossible for the suppliers to even get their hands on CLO with all of the vitamins it once had.

I don't think I'm explaining this well.

Here's the thread: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...ight=synthetic

In it, there are a couple of posts written by Dave from Green Pastures where he describes his reason for making the fermented CLO (Blue Ice.)
